Zoanoid, Gregole
Image © Colin Daniel, accessed at ArtStation here
[Commissioned by @coldbloodassassin. A Gregole is the first type of zoanoid fought in the Guyver series, establishing that the Guyver himself is a force to be reckoned with. As such, it’s explicitly a jobber, so it’s set at a pretty low CR. Use them in groups! Throw them en masse at PCs!]
Zoanoid, Gregole CR 5 LE Aberration This green humanoid stands taller than a man, and its body is covered in a carapace exaggerating human musculature. Its hands are clawed, but its head seems to be its primary weapon—it is arrayed with large horns, and two flexible tendrils hang from the base of its skull.
Gregoles are zoanoids built to be powerful but disposable brutes. They are often deployed by zoalords to make an initial show of force and coerce creatures into doing their bidding. A gregole usually opens combat with an impaling charge, knocking into the most powerful looking member of the opposition and trying to break the will of the rest. The hands of a gregole are primarily weapons—if they need to perform fine delicate work, they use the tendrils growing from the back of their heads.
A gregole stands over seven feet tall. They tend to enjoy contests of strength among themselves to establish their reputations and rank.
