Jillian: I may have lied.
Keating: You may or you did?
Jillian: I may have did.

Snowman
(fluff, Greg Keating/Diane, note: they are both somewhere around 40)
__________________________
Snow was creaking under his feet and fingers, numb from cold, but Keating stubbornly continued his work. He has been working for half an hour and finally, the result was beginning to delight him.
“What are you doing?”
The door slammed behind him and a stream of warm air with spicy smell burst from the house. Keating’s nose was cold but still could feel it. He turned to Diane, who was watching him with surprise and, maybe, a sign of alarm.
Probably it was worth to worry about him, he was knee-deep in snow. Only in a sweater and scarf, Keating was building a giant snowman much taller than him, made from three massive snowballs. The snow was falling in fluffy snowflakes and his strands of hair, covered with frost, seemed completely white.
“Building a snowman,” Keating responded, joyfully throwing his hands in the air and showing his creation.
He already stuck two stick-hands into the ball in the middle, built its eyes from a pair of small stones and also intended to add antennas from the snow. For some reason, this snowman was Andorian in his imagination.
“You’re not a child anymore,” Diane signed but there was no judgement in her voice.
She never liked childishness and children’s games but something in this strange activity interested her.
“Exactly!” he exclaimed. “I would never make such an enormous snowman when I was a child,” Keating turned to her, smiling. “And who said that you can build snowmen only in the childhood?”
Diane waved her head vaguely but remained on a terrace, wrapping herself more tightly in a blanket. Perhaps, she imagined a romantic evening in Keating’s family house differently but she couldn’t find clear objections.
When he addressed her another sly look, she shook her head.
“Hey, no, don’t even think that I’ll join you,” she protested but Keating already knew she’ll give up. “I don’t have warm gloves!”
“I’ll warm you up later,” he smirked and Diane gave him a jokingly reproachful look. “Or we’ll return to the house and we’ll warm up with mulled wine.”
Diane mumbled something in response but stepped forward, falling into the thick soft snow. She glanced at the snowman and approached him.
“I think he should have antennas,” Diane said thoughtfully, picking up a snowball. She didn’t even remember about gloves.
Celesta Hogwarts AU Part 2/?
I want to draw Celesta crew (and other Star Trek OCs) as Hogwarts students, so it's just a small post with Hogwarts House of each main character.
Gregory Keating - Hufflepuff. No, wait, listen. I know, he’s ambitious and it lead him to awful consequences but also he’s caring, supportive and loyal (yeah, it could be debatable but for friends and family for sure). And also, it wouldn’t be a surprise if previously Slytherin appeared to be working with Death Eaters. Moreover, other people would ask how this Slytherin guy builds a career so fast. It won’t happen with Hufflepuff. Everyone would know him as another Newt Scamander. Or Diggory. And that would be quite a revelation!
Jillian Hunt - Gryffindor. She has Slytherin traits but for her story it would work that she’s from Gryffindor. Because Gryffindors aren’t quitters. And she quit. That’t one more reason for Maxwell to dislike her. Also, she is brave. Sometimes brave in the very stupid way. So yeah, Gryffindor!
William Maxwell - Gryffindor. He's probably the one I didn't have much problems. He's loyal, truthful, sometimes too much. So, yeah...
Bradley Finnignan - Slytherin. Most of all he wants to be noticed. It's not a wish to be on top of the world but he wants to be appreciated by his knowledge and skills. But Bradley also likes different kinds of sciences, he's supportive, friendly, even if he can be emotionally closed.
Melory Pratt - Ravenclaw. She appreciates knowledge for its essence and sees world in very unique perspective. Also, she is an artist. She is passionate but patient when she does what she likes.
Garrett Valentine - Ravenclaw. No questions. He adores knowledge just for knowledge. He's all about mysteries of universe.
Ted Monroe - Hufflepuff. He is nice and loyal. His friends and family are much above any ambitions. He will sacrifice his career to help them.
Harris Cross - Slytherin. His favourite pets are snakes. And also he's also up to challenge, he likes to prove his knowledge, to beat opponents but Harris also is an exceptional leader. Moreover, he'll do anything to save a patient and will think of any way possible.
Beatis Daniels - Gryffindor. She's courageos, even if it takes time to discover it. She's loyal to friends, family and crew. Her bonds and her work is all for her but she will choose people she cares about.
“You’re asking difficult questions again”. Keating shook his head, looking away, but it was more complicated to avoid imaginary glare than a real one.
“Then what did you expect when you resurrected me in your head?”
“That it’ll be easier to deal with you now,” he snorted. “Apparently I was wrong.”
I draw a gif! It's Keating's table after all the main events (many and many of them). At the very beginning his table and his quarters were empty because he had nothing in his life except for work. And on board of Celesta Keating is finding new people and recreating bonds with his family. So, list of things that are on his table (from left to right): - his lucky scarf. It was made and given to Greg by old family friend and previous host of Pratt symbiont. Greg took it to Academy and then to every single mission - a lot of PADDs. He's still a workaholic, can't change it now - cup with a hot drink. Some days it's coffee, sometimes it's more relaxing trillian blue tea - a (24th century) picture of him and his sisters, from time when he was still a cadet - a first medal he actually owned (and the most precious one) - pendant in the form of an anchor. For a long time it belonged to Jillian, then it stayed with her ex-boyfriend Nash and after that Keating got it (yeah, it's a symbol of her soul, which in the end is with Greg) - piece of latinum. It's a souvenir from Becca, his older sister, who studies ferengi economic system and also helps them to rebuild it after Rom's new reforms - ancient vase which he, his younger sister and their mother digged up together on a planet far-far away. He never had much interest for history or archaeology but mother and sister have, so it reminds him of them
