Hey friend prepare for multiple ask for the wip ask game. Starting with "Playing the game"

AHH GREMLIN MY BESTEST FRIEND!!

You have picked a most perfect wip to start with (mainly because I have been intending to write something for this for ages)!

I'll preface this by saying the original concept was a songfic for 'Playing his game' from the Death Note musical

Basic concept:

A Miraculous Ladybug fic where after initially being dissuaded from the idea that Gabriel Agreste is Hawkmoth and just now that she's up close and personal and getting a taste of the 'how dare you breathe in my direction' energy Gabriel exudes she's clocking a lot of the same mannerisms that Hawkmoth has, things he isn't hiding because only people who have seen Hawkmoth up close and personal would know.

Unfortunately, Gabriel is also immediately suspicious that she's ladybug - because every time he leaves to be hawkmoth Marinette mysteriously disappears form the cameras and she always seems a bit too invested in knowing about *him*. As a peer not just as a boss/mentor and he recognises the same look in her eyes as Ladybug's 'do not fuck with the plan' look.

Both of them are semi-aware the other is suspicious of them but they try to get closer to the person to get information without revealing themselves.

I don't actually know how it'd end, I didn't get that far in the planning...
