Bringing back single father Grian and Cleo, but Cleo is a goddess.
Grian is good on giving his harvest offerings to the divine, presenting them crops, meat, woods, whatever. His child is really looking into the arts, wanting to become a poet. He knows he isn't fit to nurture such a brilliant young mind, so he turns to the Goddess of Art and Creativity Cleo for help, offering her cows never worked and the best gold her can.
Cleo is smitten with him immediately. He's quick to pray to her, and offering up just about anything in her name. She blesses his child with help in the form of her own servants, but it isn't enough. She gets a weird kind of cuteness aggression over both of them. The instinctual urge to shake and squeeze them. She won't, obviously, but it's there. She settles for making sure they get amazing sleep and don't have to worry about disease or storms. Maybe, in a few years, she can descend in her pure form and love him. And, if she's lucky, he will love her. She won't make him.
It many years, she'll joke that it was only Grian's child she became mortal for. Such incredible skill and talent and a personality impossible to love. And Grian will laugh, rolling over to kiss her. And asking if it's a sacrifice of breakfast she wants this morning?
