Rapid Fire Q&A with Grey Party!
We’re here with the legendary Grey Party, to play Rapid Fire Q&A you ready?
GP: Let’s get it!
First time at Senora Sounds Sounds?
GP: Ohhh nooo been going for quite some time now. Missed one I think one cause I was in France but all have overall, enjoyable.
Business mode or festival mode today?
GP: Haha well you know me man it’s always a good time, business will be going on but I love hanging around the desert around this time especially with family and close friends.
Skating before meetings or after?
GP: It depends on the day usually meetings I take care of first thing early am, just with having global business partners, I tend to make sure things needing attention, are handled first. If I don’t feel like the gym or a jog I’ll go skate a morning session.
Favorite place to skate when you travel?
GP: Oh wow! Great question well, I was recently in Japan skating and doing some business which was a lot of fun, but nothing beats skating in Los Santos downtown. I’m blessed to have worked with the city to build skate parks around town for not only myself but for everyone else. I guess can add vice city to the list although am alligator ate my last board there haha.
Music you skate to the most?
GP: Usually to some classic jams, but a lot of my dawg 250, Andre King, MOOK, Poopshitters, the homegirl Lady Charlemagne. Man I can keep going all day with that… it’s a lot, I’m not in music anymore but I still keep my ear to it.
Boards or business cards which do you lose more often?
GP: Mmmmm. Probably skateboards I guess I don’t lose them technically, usually just give my boards away to locals after a session.
Desert heat powering through or pacing yourself?
GP: Always gotta pace yourself that’s first and foremost. Hydrate and always right. I gotta bring you to grapeseed and show you all the food we grow out there at the family farm. Truly amazing.
Festival crowds or solo skate sessions?
GP: If security allows me too I like to mosh when the Poopshitters and Love Fist are on stage. But I mean as a Los Santos native feel it’s law to mosh at their shows, been doing it since a teen. Solo skate sessions are great too, blessed for my private indoor skate house in town for when I have big parts to film for my skate teams videos.
Early mornings or late nights?
GP: Absolutely love early mornings. I love waking up with the day. I love choosing a car to cruise getting a coffee and just watching city wake up.
Biggest difference between boardroom energy and festival energy?
GP: Well the music of course. The lights the sounds the desert night sky the people having fun, I mean nothing beats that. I get a kick out of people being excited to be somewhere they put their hard earned money towards. Boardrooms are just stiff and cold, so I change the energy and bring the boardroom among things more lax. So going golfing and or maybe checking out a classic rare car meet something like that. Do things that feed the soul, money comes and goes, it’s the connection that’s most important. That creates longevity in business and solid relationships with people.
Sneakers or something louder today?
GP: We going with some light loafers with the denim today but man i love me pair of the Slab shoes. I’m driving my Grotti GT750 today so with the classic car I gotta go classic loafers.
5 artist you’re looking forward to ?
GP: To be honest im eager to see the newer artist perform, at least new to me. But thats tough cause of such a solid line for three days. Not counting Mook, Andre and 250 who are my brothers so you’ll find me at their shows and for sure Jacks. But off the top of my head, hmmm well I wanna see Chanel perform she’s been doing well, I wanna see Rodrick I know we ain’t ever see eye to eye that don’t mean I don’t respect the artistry, Missy Dada cause I mean she is an icon and it’s always good , Nashe love her and her music, she’s beautiful and Tigga enjoyed him on 250 show so it’ll be cool to see what he’s got in store for his fans. I know you said 5 but I gotta put FSG Dee and Cebo up there too.
What keeps you coming back to events like Señora Sounds?
GP: Well it’s honestly just about the energy like I said before I love seeing the happiness in people and this place give that feeling. We have friends out in the desert and car clubs so it’s a great time when we can all get together to have a good time.
Festival Moshpit or Pressbox?
GP: Mosh only for Poopshitters and Lovefist. Love roasting a fat joint in the press box.
If you weren’t here right now, where would you be skating?
GP: Most likely at the skate houses in Chamberlain & Strawberry or dowtown somewhere.
Finish the sentence: Senora Sounds is the place…
GP: Where good energy meets a wonderful time and creates a world you only thought exist in the mind.
Thank you Grey Party for playing Rapid Fire! 🔥
See you at the Festival
