I don’t think a scene that tense has ever made me laugh that hard! I’m pretty sure that as I was reading this part, this audio popped into my head, and I was laughing even harder. I knew that I had to make it into a reality XD

This is my entry for @winterstarart’s 20k follower DTIYS contest. I had a lot of fun getting to do color dynamics and lighting I don’t normally experiment with, and I’m reaaally happy with my composition. This whole piece turned out so much better than I had originally envisioned it. (And the quality is sooo much better here than Instagram).

If you guys don’t know who Winter is, she’s an amazing artist that sells fan merch for all kinds of fandoms including (but not limited to) the Life Series, Hermitcraft, and the DreamSMP. I highly recommend giving her a follow and/or looking at her shop if you’re looking for good-quality items.

Subject 001: Grian Xelqua

So.

No one asked for Grian.

But I wanted to draw him, so I did. :)

Grian’s design was actually very inspired by other characters. One of them was @uhohbestie’s way of drawing Grian’s hair. I’ve done it once before, and it was very fun, so I thought “why not?” The other inspiration was Mel from Arcane. :>

Grian was one of the designs I was pretty set on from the beginning, but I think waited to sketch and post him bc, you know. It’s Grian. If this one potentially brings in a bunch of new fans for the AU, I wanted to make sure there was more content for people to see.

I sketched this one out shortly after the new Life Series trailer dropped since it seems to be EvoSMP-inspired. I haven’t gotten to this point in the series myself, but I’m very, VERY excited for the implications of more Watcher activity in the Life Series (that might actually be canon lol)
