Just watched Impulse's vod from when GIGS played Shift at Midnight and Grian so tapped in to his Tokyo Soul self when he was put in charge of the gun.

I need it animated and written in a fic in an angsty way PLEASE. (I will write some too but I NEED PPL ON THIS W ME)

Anyway, when Impulse said "Grian you're a soldier" my first thought was "Nah, he just had access to guns in high school where everyone was a psychopath" :D

I don't yet have the semantics, really but one can be born a god or be turned into one, or REborn as a god with their previous memories. Not all of the gang is really in there as to what god they are or how, but-

-Ren's some patron of battle, brotherhood and honor. Also, Wolf guy. Full god.

-Pearl is the daughter of the moon goddess. can go between winged/avian form and wolf hybrid form. They're not sure if she's a demigod or a minor god but she lives in the god place so???

Technoblade makes cameos as the son of the Blood God, 'cept for the funnies the BG is actually really chill.

-Lizzie is the daughter of the previous old ocean goddess but is also now old enough to sometimes be in her mother's place. Aquatic-hybrid looking w/ wings.

-Joel is a son of the sky god, originally a demigod who ascended. and Lizzie's fiancé/bf. A tanuki hybrid that gained wings.

Xisuma is some kind of void god????

-Martyn is some listener-like god and also Lizzie's brother, is also the god of Mars and….. look idk what Martyn is the god of which is super funny because he's close in the story- i cant decide whether he born or ascended lmao. Has dog ears but avian wings and long tail. and a few aquatic features.

-Tango is a young fire god, Jimmy's age, previously a blaze/demon hybrid that died and ascended. IDk who is looking after him rn but he's best friends (JUST best friends) with Jimmy.

-Jimmy is Martyn and Lizzie's much younger biological little brother. hes not set in what he will god yet. baby yellow winged, an avian-aquatic mix. Possibly was born mortal for no reason before Martyn went down and found him triggered the ascension (this happens with young gods sometimes, no big deal). Martyn's the one looking after him.

And then we have Grian. I do actually have his lil story in mind.

He was born mortal and stuff. Normal mixed hybrid, cat-avian child with red wings, long tufted honey brown ears and tail, like his hair. A faint sunburst birthmark on his nose.

His parents were mean :(. like really bad and abusive. they hurt him a lot. He was a quiet baby. suuuch a traumatized quiet lil baby. One time, they attacked near his throat, and his vocal cords were very slightly strained or hurt.

One day as a three-year-old he ran away into the woods and was sort of adopted by the wild yokai leopard-bakenekos (he was born in Minecraft Japan, nothing else).

He lived with them for a while, wandering out wild and becoming very feral, and only talking to them. Sure, he learned words and how to be normal and stuff by wandering the streets, but still feral-ish. Then, when Grian was six, he was caught and sent back to his parents, who were worse than before. He escaped a month later, but his father gave chase and hunted him for the next months, and at age seven, he was cornered by his drunk father and.... didn't make it......

The offing wound was a claw slash at the throat, with tore his vocal cords too.

But the child ascended and woke up in the wilds of the godly realm. Somehow instinctively, or perhaps being told by a passing spirit, what had just happened to him. His wings got some darker red markings all over, his ears and tail bigger, eyes turned from dark brown to gold sometimes. Running on all fours and being feral was eve easier than before. (I'm not sure what he's the god of either)

The way the god realm worked was that there were territories to each respective god or godly family or faction or whatever. There were free areas, like the wildwoods Grian was spawned in.

Being a traumatized feral seven-year-old child with trust issues, Grian didn't go looking for the other gods or godlings, even the ones he knew about. He stayed hidden and somehow lived it out in the woods, occasionally meeting other unclaimed or stray godkids, playing a few times like on the streets, learning some stuff, got chased off by Ren's unsupervised, overly eager dire wolves the one time he strayed into red territory, and so on.

He even watched a few godlings get captured(?) and claimed by the adults, like that one similarly ascended deer hybrid girl his age, Gem, who got scooped by a nature goddess.

One day when sneaking around a few free territory grass fields, he ran into Jimmy. He was around eight or nine by then in god years, a year older than Jimmy in the same way. Somehow, cautiously, Jimmy being Jimmy, they made friends. Grian never spoke and only made noises, but he could commune emotions or impressions telepathically (he was capable of words but didn't use them), was shy and nervous, and never talked about where he came from or if he was being looked after, but he was a good friend to Jimmy. Jimmy even managed to teach him a few letters so he could write his name! Martyn wasn't sure what to think of his little brother's new best friend, since the child never speaks, seems afraid of him, runs off if he approaches him alone, and he isn't sure who's claimed the kid yet, or where he runs off too in the wilds after playing with James, but Jimmy says he's funny and actually really smart, so for now thats good enough for now.... (Jimmy knows Grian is on his own but he's not telling Martyn because he knows Grian is scared.)

I mean, Grian can talk telepathically…. but he cant speak. his vocal abilities beyond noises have been terminated after the nature of his death. his vocal cords were slashed, and now he cannot talk.

And yeah. The way stray godlings work is that they'll spawn or ascend in…. somewhere in the godly realm, and it sort of just works out from there. Sometimes they're in a territory and get found. Other times, they're already bonded to a god who senses them and comes to find them. Other times, they go looking. Others, like Gem and Grian, wander about on their own in the free lands or territories until they're eventually found and scooped up.

Anwyway Martyn is sus of this child.

Griba has a scarf, a purple one, that hides his throat scar. IDK where he got it from.

I sketched this one out shortly after the new Life Series trailer dropped since it seems to be EvoSMP-inspired. I haven’t gotten to this point in the series myself, but I’m very, VERY excited for the implications of more Watcher activity in the Life Series (that might actually be canon lol)

So, Over and Over by Rio Romeo, with Grian's widow curse(I personally call it the cardinal curse, but widows curse will be used here bc most people use it. as for why I call it the cardinal curse... well, I suppose someone will have to ask me why)

"Over and over. I fuck myself over. And under and under. I do it again." Grian continuing the games despite the suffering it causes him and others(In my au he was forced to do so. What au? IG you'll have to ask(please do please i need an excuse to yap about my main LS au pls pls pls))

"Morning and evening. I felt I was grieving. Until I said fuck you. And never again." Grian refusing to team with Scar again after the end of 3rd Life?? Doomed yaoi desert duo my beloved

Like, the line "Daytime or night time I feel I’m on my time. But my time is fickle. Just like a friend." is so widow's curse coded. "BECAUSE THEY ALL DIED BEFORE HIM!!" I scream as they drag me into a padded room /hj

"And with my departure. From the pain I harbor. I feel I am sinking. And sailing to swim." Grian killing himself at the end of 3rd Life to start the next game, mayhaps?
