OKAY GUYS LISTEN TO THIS. CAUSE IT'S INSANE TO ME.
Grim Hunt. This is Kaine. he has been killed. He died in the Spider-Man costume and Kraven has set him up in a coffin to taunt Peter. as seen here. Kraven has given Peter the black suit to wear, as the original suit is well. Occupied. Peter wears the black suit to fight the Kravenoffs.
But then. He changes.
When he buries Kaine, he wears the original suit again. alright, no big deal. It's not like he only had one original suit, right? right? WRONG.
WHEN KAINE CLAWS HIMSELF UP OUT OF THE FUCKING GRAVE HE'S NAKED. HE'S NAKED. PETER PEELED THE SUIT OFF HIM AND WORE IT. AND BURIED HIM NAKED.

Grim Hunt possibly one of my favourite Spider-Man arcs, i am going to be thinking about this constantly

Kaine is such a compelling and tragic character, and this arc is written so well and captures all the nuances and complexities of him, its genuinely heartbreaking
What comic has Kaine's time as SpiderMan?
As far as I know Kaine has never taken the mantel of Spider-Man but he is the Scarlet Spider. However if you mean the time Kaine dressed up in the Spider-Man suit then that was from the Grim Hunt arc: The Amazing Spider-Man #634-637
the Grim Hunt arc is one i go back and read so often. I've been considering even getting physical copies of it i love it so much.
It really I think develops the relationship between Peter and Kaine in a way Scarlet Spider (2012) much as I adore it regresses it. Grim Hunt also really helped imo, shift the Kravinoffs from goofy easy to beat villains to villains who have a real place in the Spider meta.

YES IT'S SO GOOD. I was gonna live blog reading it but got so caught up with it, lol and then I was like "I need to make an edit out of this". I love it. I wish we had gotten more of it but honestly it was really well paced and I wouldn't change it but I just want more.
Kaine being tied to the Kravinoff's in the back story with him and Kraven was really good too! I love the conversation they had together, like Peter is frustrated with Kaine and Kaine was trying to get him to leave it all behind because that's what he is used to doing. I really want to see more of Peter and Kaine in the future. This was such a good step forward for them!!!
I'm still going through my Kaine readings and I think? Spider Island is next, but out of everything I've read so far Grim Hunt is my #1 and Scarlet Spider series, #2 fave arcs! I loved Clone Saga too, but it's clear that Kaine was still in early stages of his characterization even though it's changed since.
Grim Hunt is I think now my most favorite Kaine arc.
Madam Web saying how important Kaine is, and Kaine feeling for the first time his life has any worth by sacrificing himself for Peter to live.

I just love how Peter went batshit on the Kravinoffs after he found Kaine.
