Fantasy or Science Fiction. But I read all kinds of beautiful shit :)

Watch Tv-shows and movies, read books and write.

It's in working progress actually. I'm writing a Doctor Who screenplay for a project in school. So far I'm really proud of it!

I try. I have this really great idea about a book but I just doesn't know how to start!

1) What is your favorite fandom?

I have to choose?! Oh goodness. Probably Harry Potter since I've been with them the longest, but Supernatural has a special place in my heart. :)

2) What is your dream job?

I'm hoping to find a position as a book editor for YA fantasy and fiction someday, but I'd still really like to be a warrior princess too, so....

3) What is your favorite Disney movie?

Mulan. Hands down. I've seen it way too many times to count and I know all the lines and songs. Not unlike the other Disney movies, but still. It's always gonna be Mulan.

4) Have you read Tamora Pierce yet?!

I started in the 7th grade and haven't stopped since! Keladry was awesome, but the biggest baddass babe will always be Alanna.

5) Favorite fairytale?

Beauty and the Beast I guess... I have about 5 books that are retellings of it. Although I do love the original Little Red Riding hood, too.

6) Do you have a special quirk?

If my whole being is a quirk, does that count? Idk, I guess I'm a tad overly sarcastic and sassy at times.

7) What would your patronus be?

I honestly have no idea. I'd like to think maybe an owl or a wolf, but that may be me projecting my internal need to be a baddass onto my patronus, so... yeahhhhhh.

8) Hogwarts house?

Ravenclaw. Although, on the tests that I've taken from different places, I'm pretty evenly sorted into either Ravenclaw or Gryffindor, with Slytherin thrown in one time, which I'm rather proud of.

9) Favorite actor?

oh goodness, choosing again... right now? Benedict Cumberbatch. But that's totally subject to change based on the minute, hour, day, and what I'm watching.

10) Favorite actress?

again, choosing, not my strong suit. I do love Anne Hathaway, but Amanda Tapping has played so many characters that I love so well that I think I'm gonna have to choose her.

11) Favorite TV show?

Today? Teen Wolf. But if you're asking, of all time, I'd have to counter with the question of "what genre?".

1. If you could be any character in How To Train Your Dragon (or any fandom of your choice, actually) who would you be?

Hmm… to be honest, if I had a choice, I would love to be among the characters, not one of them. I’d wanna be close to the characters, study them, get to know them better. That would make me happier.

2. Why did you decide to join tumblr?

When I realized it’s a great place to fangirl with other fangirls. Yeah.

3. Do you play any sports?

I used to play badminton professionally. I still play it sometimes. 

4. If you could meet someone from the past (deceased) and from the present (alive) who would they be?

The past… Cyrus the Great. Just to meet him and learn some humanity and greatness from him. He was the first king in the world to write down humanity rules and the first who managed to be a great king and a real human being at the same time.

5. What does your URL mean?

It’s my pen name. Short of it. My name is Atefeh, which means ‘kindness’ and ‘compassion’. Aty is short for Atefeh. Then there’s the S which is the first letter of my surname. Then there’s Behsam. It’s Persian a name created by a letter in each of my family members’ names combined. B for my father, E isn’t written in Persian, H for my mother, S for my brother, A for myself, and M for my other brother. There, my pen name: Aty S. Behsam. There, my URL: A. S. Behsam 

6. What kind of music are you into?

All kinds of it, mostly indie rock, but all kinds of music. Especially original scores and soundtracks for movies. Hans Zimmer, John Powell, Howard Shore, James Newton Howard, Alexandre Desplat, Rachel Portman, Carter Burwell, Marco Beltrami, Nick Cave and Warren Ellis, Thomas Newman, Mark Isham, David Julyan… Love them all! 

7. What’s the scariest thing you’ve ever done?

Becoming the interpreter for UNESCO representer at conferences for a while. 

8. If you could have any superpower, what would it be?

I’d say flying, but that would be selfish, as it would have been 90% great for me only. So I’d choose healing. And not the physical typical healing. The mental one. The one that could help me find a way instantly what makes someone happy. How amazing it could be to have the ability to save hundreds of teenagers from suicide?

9. What is something cool that you’ve done in your life?

Learning everything myself, and writing in another language other than my own. I learned English, drawing, writing, all on my own. I don’t take pride in learning them, I’m proud of them because I tried. I tried until I learned.

10. What is your favorite season and why?

Where I live, Iran, we have four very different seasons. That’s the beauty of it. I love all of the season so much. But I love winter the most. It carries a soothing sense with it, and the beauty of snow and rain. The gray and the white… I love winter.

Oh I wish. I’m in love with piano and violin. Piano especially. 

2. Everyone has that one song that they’re currently obsessed with or listen to a lot. What’s yours?

More like… songS! There are three I’m listening to a lot these days.  ‘Please Don’t Go’ by Barcelona, ‘Viðrar Vel Til Loftárása’ by Sigur Rós, and ‘Runaway’ by The National. They’re in my new story’s playlist, so that’d explain why I listen to them a lot as I write the story…

3. Do you have any pets? What are their names?

No, unfortunately. My mother doesn’t like animals in the house. I’d have wanted a dog, really. Or a cat.

4. What do you think of oranges?

They remind of Annoying Orange.

5. What’s your favorite book to read?

You mean the book I’ve read 1345674 times but I still read once in a while? Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.

6. If you could remake any movie known to man, what would it be?

Hitman. I mean, come on. The game rocks, the movie sucks.

7. Do you have a place where you go just to be peaceful and think? What is that place?

My room. All the time. It’s my place. I love it.

8. Who’s your favorite actress/actor?

There are a lot of them. A lot of them. Seriously. Gary Oldman, Leila Hatamni, Al Pacino, Robert Deniro, Peyman Moaadi, Robert Downey Jr, Daniel Radcliffe, Jeremy Renner, Emily Blunt, Shohreh Aghdashloo, Jensen Ackles, Leonardo DiCaprio, Ali Mosaffa, Emma Watson, AND AND AND… A lot more.

9. Would you rather have potatoes for feet or be allergic to the sun?

Um, I’d rather have ice cream for left hand. And have it regenerate as I eat it.

10. If you could only speak to one person for the rest of your life, who would it be?

My cousin Arezou. She’s the one who always listens. We could just spend years talking about our stories and movies we’ve watched. 

11. In all seriousness, if you were pulled into an animated movie of your choice, how would you deal with the change of environment?

I’d enjoy it as much as I can, and I’d try to be one of the those memorable animated characters.

1. What did you dream of when you were a kid?

Becoming a writer who draws her stories. I’m close to reaching it. I hope.

2. Any thoughts on Cosmopolitanism?

The world needs to have common rules for humanity. That’s not something to discuss in a few sentences, but that’s something everyone must agree with. Or the world will not survive long.

3. Honestly, do you really think you would have had enough guts to befriend a night fury, if you were Hiccup?

To be honest, yes. Not because I’m brave or anything, but because I’ve looked at the face of death a few times, and I’m used to risks for changes for the better.

4. Can you express your thoughts shortly, or do you have to tell every slightest detail of every flashing thought?

Details. I’m addicted to them. Even my stories are sometimes drowned in details. I need to try and lighten them up. Seriously!

5. If you could live in any era of history (Past, Present or Future), which one would you choose?

Present. But a different present.

6. What was that one book that influenced your current way of thinking?

You’d be surprised to know it was the book I read about the history of literature. I got to know so many people who tried to change the world in their own way through only words. It made me more determined to become an author.

7. Would you spend two hundred years on Earth in this Universe (without your appearance aging after you reach 37 years), or would you rather spend a single day in a fictional universe of your choice?

That single day in the world of one of my own novels. 

8. Any hobbies?

Drawing, listening to music, writing background info for my characters, making family trees for them, watching series, making stuff for my stories.

9. Name three things that annoy you the most.

Injustice. Ignorance. Selfishness.

10. Do you agree with the statement that ‘reality is in the mind of the beholder’?

It depends really. It’s not definite. It depends on the reality, and the beholder!

11. What was the most ridiculous thing you’ve ever done?

Trying so hard to get people in high school to like me. After it’s over, a few years later, you realize it doesn’t even matter who they like, it’s who YOU truly are that matters. The funny thing is that almost all of them, seeing them now once in a while, say things like, ‘you’re the one person from high school I’m still friends with’, or ‘I really liked you back then’… I tried for nothing. I just had to be me.

Sitting in my room, sad that I can’t go watch HTTYD2 in the cinemas because we just don’t have that chance in Iran, and that I’ll have to wait until the DVD comes out…

Paper Towns by John Green.

I studied English Translation BA, and ranked one of the top students in the exam for English Literature MA, but I wanna study Creative Writing one day.

Answered that. I wanted to be someone who draws her stories. I didn’t know exactly what that job would be, but I just loved it!
