literally NONE of the heteto ships on snw have any chemistry my god they’re all so mf cringe.

i liked marie and i absolutely don’t agree w the nonsensical way they got rid of her, but i’m almost glad she’s gone purely for the fact that i dont need to witness her & pike together anymore. chapel and korby are SO bad my god please spare us no more. spock and la’an are legitimately painful to watch for many, MANY strong reasons

the only “romances” that would ever be even remotely relevant in the context of star trek (and especially in the context of a PREQUEL to tos) would be “atypical” ones like spirk (obviously, and broadly anything interspecial like una and doug lol which everybody loved!!!) and anything queer / “boundary pushing” (like scotty and uhura - although heteto in nature, it’s interracial - HELLO KISS BETWEEN SHATNER AND NICHOLS FIRST INTERRACIAL KISS, but ALSO it was basically a secret, bc relationships have no place in the context of the show. also celia is nonbinary so that in and of itself makes uhotty outside the status quo with this show). so please ENOUGH with the boring heteto nonsense this isn’t the CW.

i don’t need to see any more frankly gross, uncalled for, ooc sultry salsa dancing or weird ass flashforward marriages with dogs and kids ffs. GIVE ME THE STRANGE NEW WORLDS. the space. the philosophy, the cheesy sets, the moral dilemmas, the shenanigans, the beauty of the “human” spirit and how it touches everything in the galaxy, the replicator food, the funny/cool animals on other planets, the scientific breakthroughs, the beauty of teamwork!!

there are GLIMPSES of those things in snw, but it’s not consistent and the interludes of boring relationships NEED to stop. give us more subspace rhapsody, more ad astra per aspera, more the sehlat who ates its tail. PLEASE. s3 was honest to god horrendous so i hope all their toting of “s4 is better” is actually true.

zvtaras and fantaras want firelady k.atara to happen so badly when you literally have aang; liberating an entire school of fire nation students, gaining their love and trust, leading them by knowing several classic fire nation dances already, who knows what the heart of the fire nation was before it was polluted by a dictator, who challenged the false historical teachings of their instructor in class with humor and sincere grace, and who is the only one who knows the blue spirit, the true self of the fire nation’s new firelord and leader. like bruh zukaang is RIGHT THERE and it’s everything you want zvtara to be and/or pretend it is.

not to mention - aang is zuko’s partner (“you knew avatar aang better than anyone”, “lifelong best friends”) not prize. they are friends due to mutual trust. aang got zuko to bend and grow (and vice versa) because he was shamelessly who he is. he would never compromise who he is as the avatar and an air nomad.

this is petty and i truly do support love for them in any form, but can PLATONIC zukaangers please not tag their posts with “platonic zukaang” or “platonic though make sure you know i mean platonic!!!!! PLATONIC!!!!!” like zukaang is the ship name.

& this isn’t a dig abt posts who talk abt their friendship, or meta, or obviously understand the depth of the show and their characters - i’m referring to ppl who HAVE to say/clarify that they mean STRICTLY PLATONIC and in no way would ever mean or insinuate romantic don’t ever infer romance between these two you sick freaks shady posts. like pls. if you mean that & are utterly terrified/disgusted with the possibility of ppl interpreting your post in a NOT platonic way, don’t tag your post with the SHIP NAME.
