Grimmwald has a curse and a dead lover, he’ll tell you about one and never confess to the other
I would like to know about grimm!!!
He's mixed, half Arab half Eastern European. His family immigrated only two generations ago but his grandmother was intent on securing the family's safety and tried to completely uphold local culture. As such, Grimm really doesn't have any connection to his native culture.
He's a retired herbologist and apothecarian. About 3 years ago, on a little quest to forage materials for his work, Grimm's lover found himself in the crosshairs of a nasty witch. Grimm swore he'd take the full brunt of any curse if the witch would let his lover go. Grimm was cursed but his lover was murdered anyways.
Now Grimm is a fugitive, always forcing a smile and positive attitude as strong negative emotions aggravate and spurn on the effects of his curse. He meets Ousmane when the vampire frees him from a public stoning. Ousmane vaguely resembles his fallen lover so Grimm begs that he be allowed to tag along and y'know 👀 feelings happen

I’m mapping out my Fractured Fairytales setting, tentatively named Grimmwald, and I’m looking at a map of the post-Carolingian central Europe to map out the kingdoms.
But imagine southwestern Swabia, northeast Provence, all of Transjurania, Lorraine, and southwestern Friestad is consumed by an eldritch forest.
That’s the Grimmwald.
Grimm: "No offense, but do you even lift?"
YOU’RE LITERALLY INTESTINAL GAS THAT TALKS. GET OUT.
Grimm: Hey, doc, I've been meaning to ask this; how the heck are you keeping your glasses on?
Depends on the glasses! I've got several different pairs with different qualities! Some I just hold up, some have wires that go around my horn, some actually hook over the horn and hang off of it. I try to keep them away from actually balancing on my ears, because they're super sensitive and twitch a lot and that tends to knock them askew!
