“Yes. By which we mean areas trainers can access.” They explain.
“Uh.......do you just mean humans in general, then?”
“Yes.”
“.....I...don’t think I’ve ever seen a human, aside from myself I guess. But that means I’m from the human side, so how are we...here, then?”
Enigma hums. “That is an inherent part of the way Zones work, actually. Most Phantumps that die to become them actually do so in Mystery Zones.”
“Wait, seriously?? Why?”
“Mystery Zones are inherently easy to get lost in. It is impossible to leave the same way you enter one, and therefore, most humans that attempt to traverse get lost, die, become Phantumps, keep going, and end up on the Pokemon side. Some manage to take a long route to manage to exit on the same side of the Zone that they entered, but it’s rare.”
“Hmmmm.......so I probably lived on the...’Pokemon’ side, then? Before I came here?”
“If you’ve never seen a human before, then yes, it is likely.”
Lucy’s eyes narrow a bit. “....what’s it mean that I’m here, then? If this forest is a Mystery Zone?”
“Likely, it simply means you wandered back into a Zone without meaning to. Without knowing what a Mystery Zone is, it’s relatively difficult to tell one apart from the surrounding area, especially if you’re on the Pokemon side.”
“Huh. And, uh, you said it wasn’t just the forest? That curses everyone, I mean.”
“Correct. There’s an individual causing the curse itself, but the warped energies of the Mystery Zone cause it to have more unpredictable effects.”
“...how do you know, anyway? Have you met them?”
“We have not. Really, it’s just a theory of ours more than anything, but it makes the most sense. A Pokemon living here is the perpetrator.”
“....what kind of Pokemon do you think?”
They close their eyes. “The Ghost King Pokemon itself.”
She tilts her head. “What?”
And here's the other Fakemon stuff!
Both are Flying/Ghost types, and have actual heights, weights, stats, and Pokédex entries!
*Ahem*
Rayghoul- The Apparition Pokémon
Type- Flying/Ghost
Height- 2ft
Weight- 7lbs
Despite its appearance, Rayghoul is a very friendly Pokémon. The appendage on its tail functions as a hand when in flight, and a foot when on solid ground. It flies silently. It is ferociously loyal to its allies. It is timid, so it hides in shadows to avoid being seen.
Evolution- Rayghoul > level up while knowing Shadow Claw > Grimray
Good stats- Attack, Speed
Bad stats- Special Defense
OK stats- Defense, Special Attack
And Rayghoul's evolved form~~~
Grimray- The Ghost King Pokemon
Type- Flying/Ghost
Height- 7ft
Weight- 7lbs
This Pokémon never sleeps. It can phase through anything, but the crown on its head will always remain solid. It is said that Grimray arose from a cursed talisman. It is a Pokémon of nightmares; however, the nightmares are warnings of future tragedies. It is believed that those who do not heed Grimray’s warning may not see the light of day.
Evolution- Rayghoul > level up while knowing Shadow Claw > Grimray
Good stats- Attack, Speed
Bad stats- Special Defense
OK stats- Defense, Special Attack
The Ray Capsule would probably be either a held item for these two to boost their stats (like the Bone Club for Cubone and Marrowak) or a comparable item to the Odd Keystone for Spiritomb. I'm not really sure.
