Aloha, all! Here's my Calabash comic in today's Honolulu @staradvertiser newspaper • This was similar to an actual conversation with some of my buddies, who are as local as they get... Everyone seems to enter the "pidgin" mode when one guy speaks. We discussed how to spell certain things since Pidgin English is more of a spoken language than a written one... ...Which led to the joke about spelling GRINDS (Grindz? Experiment 486 - Grindz - Designed to pulverize enemy war strongholds. 486’s hinged jaw and massive forearms are ideal for crumbling the toughest of fortresses, and his thick hide is impervious to almost any form of attack. Fortunately, Grindz isn’t bright and is easily distracted by the way something tastes. His One True Place is with Kokaua Town Construction, demolishing old buildings.
