This was supposed to be my last job.
Touchez pas au grisbi (1954, dir. Jacques Becker)
Touchez pas au grisbi was released in France on 3 March 1954.
Albert Simonin adapted his own novel for the screen (which has little relation to the book), and directed by Jacques Becker, the film helped relaunch the career of 49-year-old Jean Gabin.
Touchez pas au grisbi was a box office success in France and had a huge influence of crime films (in 1998 it was named as the best French crime film ever made).
It was not released in the US until 1960 with the shortened title Grisbi (the original French is translated as "don't touch the loot").
