Flora Colossi Headcanon 5/?: Flowers

Being sentient plants, Flora Colossi are capable of growing flowers. Unlike other plants though, not all of these flowers are for reproduction. In fact, a Flora Colossus individual will only grow the specific fertile flowers needed for reproduction a small handful of times across their long lifespan. Most of the non-reproductive flowers they grow are used in a variety of other purposes. For instance, communication and emotional expression.

Some flora colossus will grow flowers that signify friendship and platonic affection to others. Others will grow flowers with calming scents to comfort anxious or stressed friends and family. And in some cases flowers just sprout from certain individuals whenever they feel strong positive emotions like happiness.

There are also some flora colossus on Talunhia (Planet X) that were known to use specialised flowers as signs of aggression and threat displays to enemies. Though this isn’t as common as other more effective threat displays like growing thorns or sharper branches.

Groot x Reader Christmas headcanons

Oh my god yes !!! Bro, I loved the holiday special post-credit scene so damn much it was adorable !!! So for these headcanons, I'll go with Swole Groot.

Groot was always wanting to learn about your life back on Terra, He was eager to learn more.

One day, he saw you heading to your room on the bowie, With a box in your hands.

Wondering what it could be, he went and knocked on your door.

"I am Groot ??" (Y/n, What's going on in there??)

"Just a second !!!" You said as he heard something going on and then opened the door.

"Hey Bud, I got something to show you" You smiled eagerly as you brought him inside.

He walked in and gasped, seeing all the colourful decorations in your room, The funny-looking lights and glittery strings.

"I am Groot ??" (Wow, these are so pretty. What is all this ??)

"This is called tinsel" You showed him the glittery string.

"Christmas is around the corner on Terra" You smiled as you showed him your calendar, You still counted the days on earth.

"I am Groot ??" (What is Christmas ??) he tilted his head in curiosity.

"OK, so here is another Terran lesson. Christmas is a traditional Terran holiday which is held on the very last month of the calendar, December" You showed him the calendar.

Groot was eager to learn about Christmas

You began to tell him about the traditions around it, It's meaning, and show what people do to celebrate it. Like handing out gifts, Spending time with friends and family and a bucket load of food.

One aspect he really liked was decorating the Christmas tree.

"Oh Groot, decorating the tree was one of my favourite Christmas activities. I loved hanging baubles on the branches" You sighed contently at the memories. "I even had a special bauble"

You looked around the room before finding it, It was one that you did back in kindergarten, Drawing stick figures on it being you and your parents.

You showed Groot, He really liked it.

Soon you looked at him and then had an idea.

Rocket meanwhile was looking around for Groot. He was meant to help him fix a part of the bowie.

Rocket grew confused as he went to your room and opened your door.

Only to find you, decorating Groot like a Christmas tree.

"Oh he's a Christmas tree now" You smiled.

Groot already loved Christmas so much, Maybe he'll do the gift giving aspect soon.

Awww, this is easily the best Christmas idea got anon, thank you for entrusting me with this :D.

Since joining the guardians, Life was never the same but in the best way possible, Having endless adventures with them. Building amazing friendships with Peter, Rocket and Groot. But you did miss things from earth, TV, certain foods, but the one thing you missed the most of earth... Christmas.

Peter could see how bummed out you were and went to ask what was wrong, Explaining to him that you feel homesick because Christmas is around the corner and likely... You'd never get to celebrate it.

Oh no, Not on Peter's watch.

"Rocket, Groot, I need your help" Peter went to them.

"Hey quill, whatcha need ??" Rocket turned away from his gadget and lifted his goggles up.

"I am Groot ??" (What's the matter Peter ??)

"Y/n needs our help, They're feeling homesick. I want to help them with that, But I'm gonna need to teach you guys an earth lesson."

So for almost an hour and such, He taught the two about Christmas and its traditions. Once they got a good idea, They got to work.

Rocket and Groot got to decorating the Milano with decorations, while Peter went out to knowhere and got everyone gifts.

The next morning when you woke up, You didn't hear the music on the ship. "Weird..."

You opened the door to find the ship with blinking little lights... Entering the living room you saw it was decorated with... Tinsel... And a custom tree in the middle with gifts under it.

Rocket snuck up behind you and then jumped on your back, Nooging your head "Merry Christmas Humie" He smirked.

You giggled "Rockehehet" You tried to get him off but his grip was on tight.

"I am groot" (Merry Christmas) Groot smiled offering you a flower.

"You guys did this ??" You looked at them.

"Well... we had a little help"

Peter went back the bathroom and smiled seeing you.

"Merry Christmas y/n" He smiled and hugged you.

The others then joined in for a group hug, You could feel happy tears emerge, this was amazing.

Once Gamora and Drax woke up, the gift-giving commenced. It was filled with smiles and laughs galore.

Flora Colossi Headcanon 4/?: poison immunity

Due to thier extremophile adaptations, Flora Colossus are immune to most poisons and toxins that would be normally deadly to other beings. However, some certain toxins, while not deadly to flora colossus, can induce altered states similar to drugs such as alcahol or psychedelics in humans. (This, technically is canon in the Telltale game, as there’s a part of the game where Groot straight up trips balls after falling into a patch of alien plants and eating one of them)

On the flip side of this, drugs such as alcohol have little to no effect Flora Colossus. A fact Groot has secretly used to his advantage in multiple drinking games against his friends.
