He plays with the blanket draped over his lap, humming soft to himself. He hated the long distance, wanting Luca to come back to visit - to stay - but it was too much to ask for, especially when they had just left. “I just want to make sure you got the message.” The dragon sniffs, purposefully being difficult. They were always locked in this dance, mostly because Jude just couldn’t be upfront. The few times he had tried, it had seemed to just go over Luca’s head. Maybe this was easier.

Icy blues drag up to look into the screen, seeing Jax in the background. Hardly were they ever alone. “Maybe I miss you a little but just like a little. I think Pax is the worst, all he does is mope by his tree. I don’t need a man.” He nose turns up, his head tilting to the side. “Don’t think you’re so important... I’m not going to send you anymore comms...” Of course he was already in the middle of writing one, that he sent within seconds of that statement.

“After that one.” Another sent. “And that.”

His heart was pounding in his chest, Valen feeling ready to drop to the ground, hoping maybe it would swallow him up in the process. Words were definitely not his forte. Brute force, helping people, flying the ship - but speaking? He might as well speak gibberish. It would probably make more sense than the words that spilled from his mouth.

“Yuriel--” He wants to deny it more, although it’s no use. The male can see right through him. More awkward laughter bubbles from within, the pandorian reaching behind to rub at the back of his head. “I think-- you know-- crush is such a weird word. It sounds like I want to destroy you. And you’re too cute for that kitten, why would I want to do that? I think we should just forget I even said anything.”

Valen sneaks a glance, “So what are you working on?”

rather than  e x p r e s s i n g  his surprise, though - he opts to try to lighten the mood that had previously gripped his friend by letting a silky smile come to him, eyes going mast and his head tilting ever so slightly for his dim hues to make contact with the other’s  h e t e r c h r o m a t i c  ones.

It never minded the planet the were currently at port, the squad always held jurisdiction over any local forces. That didn’t mean they were out to play lackey for them, alas she was sent out on orders. “Hey you!” She curls two fingers, beckoning someone off in the distance over. Pulling out a tablet like device, she enlarges the picture. There’s nothing but a photo, and she gives nothing away to the crime. “A simple question, have you seen this person?”

“You shouldn’t be here.” There‘s almost panic in his tone, the red toned alien staring down the person before him. He would recognize that face anywhere, royalty was something he never took lightly. And here - this planet no more than dirt and poverty; trouble was always written in the stars. The crime rate was spectacularly high, a civil war on the brink. “You need to leave this planet, your highness.” Red dips his head, bowing as low as he can without drawing any attention. He was a soldier, a warrior, a protector. The ground rumbles, loud pops in the distance. “This is no place for a visit--”

He had never met anybody that tall before and honestly he was a little frightened.  Maybe the guy had Marfans Syndrome and didn’t want to talk about it?“I refuse to believe you just grew that tall. it was witchcraft wasn’t it” He joked and poked the other in the chest playfully.
