#HowtoMakeSomethingfromNothing - a post dedicated to my mother. She was a child of #TheSepression so making something from nothing was a necessity. The first work is mom’s and was in our childhood home my entire life and now is in the appreciative hands of my sister, Jacquie, of @garrettmitchellinteriors The book was Mom’s too! Before moving last year, I collected leaves from my yard and the urban oasis of #GrossPark, where I lived for 34 years. Japanese maple from my studio mates when my father died; Dogwood leaves from my in-laws early in a marriage; Post Oak - a steadfast tree taller than my three story house and thriving in spite of being compacted by concrete. New leaves added include Sweet gum, ginkgo, Willow Oak. In this pandemic and beyond, May you make a little something out@of nothing. https://www.instagram.com/p/CH8TTbchOOk/?igshid=1cvabcow0ksgs
