The plant profile for January will be on Ceanothus / The Redroots, and will be posted sometime at the very end of the month.
In the spirit of Red Root medicine and the new land capsule tier, my February land capsule will relate to this medicine. I'll be creating a small lot of these medicines I made from my travels last year, and distributing them for folks who choose that tier next month. With it will come two more things, likely a print of one Ceanothus species, and a unique polaroid, like I included in my January land capsule packages.
I will be doing a short video on making natural Manzanita sugar for $5/ up supporters this week.
Ground Shots will hopefully be reprinted by the end of the month and I'm hoping it will be in RISO, but it's still up in the air if that will happen. The cost of RISO is still pretty expensive for where my income is right now. And like I have mentioned, $13/up supporters will get copies of new zines when they come out.
I'd like feedback if you have any. On my plant profiles, on my rewards, on my goals, on my land capsule packages. I'm always appreciative of feedback.
I have TWO land capsule packages left for January which includes a 2 oz jar of herbal toothpowder, a Sassafras botanical letterpress print proof I made in 2016, and a unique polaroid for each package. I know these pieces aren't necessarily connected to each other like my future capsules plan to be (most of the time) but they are an encapsulation of a past self of mine. A self that loved making toothpowder for my friends, a self that has dabbled in printmaking and wants to do more of it, and a self that has always loved capturing place in some form, and sometimes a polaroid is a simple enough way.
That's it for now. My February plans are coming into focus (Arizona for the Oak Flat Walk with Navajo Uprising? care-taking a ranch in Trinity county, CA?) including brainstorming my next plant profile, I guess I've been throwing that list I posted awhile ago to the curb. I kind of like to plan which one I do according to what I'm feeling at the time.
