Exhibition 1 - Group Proposal

The group is composed by Lucrezia (me), Maya, Pedro, Neve & Lalita. We have chosen as title of the exhibition ‘London Culture’. 

Venue/Location: 

-Bayswater road/ poster like application (public) outdoors; park, bus stop, tube etc. project about the public in the public. -or venue indoors? Abandoned building or free workspaces. 

Key Dates:

5 th to 15 th May 2020 ( three-day show; day one set up, day two private view and day three public view and dismantle exhibition)

Introduction:

Our initial idea is based on London culture, with the idea of engaging the public to explore and embrace diversity within many aspects. We would all take on a different concept or technique within the theme to portray a wide range of new age ideas. Our concept would be empowered by the venue where we choose to exhibit our work. 

Context:

The aim of the exhibition is to portray London culture in various ways, in particular focusing on themes of environment, people and fashion. We expect to curate an exhibition that creates alternative perceptions of the diversities of everyday life and subjects, within London culture. As the theme is London Culture, our target audience are locals that can relate to our work, this includes a wide range of age groups; an older audience would relate and understand our concept in relation to the change from the past to present. Whereas a younger audience could relate more to new ideas. When the audience experiences the exhibition, we would create the work with a set reaction in mind. This may vary from feelings of; curiosity, de/attachment, interest and/or nostalgia. The project is based on London and presented to a London audience, having this as the main theme would effectively connect with the audience.
