Organised another group walk today, was supposed to be yesterday but I had a migraine, so unfortunately not as many people could come today - but I had a lovely walk with two other ladies, one with a Parson Russell (she borked a LOT in the car park but totally settled once we going) and one with a gorgeous Rough Collie. Joe did really well! He’s really good at walking in a pack, as long as everyone’s on leads and he doesn’t have to do close-up interactions. He started to get over-excited at one point when the PR climbed a bank to chase a squirrel - those are the moments when you can see how untrustworthy he is with small dogs, because his own excitement of the chase takes over all sense. He might just want to join in chasing the squirrel, but then again he might just redirect that onto the small dog...hooray for leads and not having to find out! He calmed down really quickly after getting his attention away, so no harm done.
I’ve got 140 people in the group now so I’m hoping to get some new faces/dogs on a regular basis now Christmas is over. Joe has been conked out on the sofa for a couple of hours since so it’s definitely good brain-work for him :)
