Random underexplored dynamics: Quinn/Britt

Thoughts/head canons on Britt/Quinn friendship? Are they good friends? Just cordial? Do they trade off notes about Santana? Lollll

I think they're probably not on the same wavelength overall, but they've been friends for so long that they've kind of just accepted there'll be certain things they can't relate to each other on. There's love there, but neither is heartbroken if they go a few months without speaking. They definitely fight less than Quinn and Santana do, but they both favour Santana too. So it's more a friendship of convenience than anything else.

Brittany finds it hilarious that Quinn and Santana slept together and teases them both incessantly when she first finds out. But then Quinn casually references something Santana did in bed that she hasn't done with Brittany before and it gets awkward. They all agree never to speak of it again.

I respect your view but I kind of think all 3 of Kurt, Mike, Mercedes would be higher than Quinn for Brittany. Ik we were told the UHT were best friends but we were actually shown that the above three liked Brittany instead of just being told.

See where you kinda lose me is Mike especially, because yes they dance together all the time but what actual friendship moment do they have? I know Glee was shit at showing the UHT and Quittany especially being friends, I know, but in a shitty show like this if we're told something that's at least something. The fandom gives Mike so much credit for so little even though he was barely a character. Don't get me wrong, I adore Bike and Mike (friend)ships too, but it's mostly a fanon thing because it was convenient to have Hemo and Harry dance together.

Let's be honest, Glee kinda sucked at showing Brittany in particular be actual friends with anyone other than Santana. She has moments with all three that you mentioned and I cherish them and consider them friends with Brittany. But we're basing a lot of those friendships on very few scenes/not substantial ones anyway, so I don't think it's fair to not extend that to Quinn.

That's really the TL;DR of everything I say about Glee friendships. And this isn't against you or anything Anon because I do appreciate your input, but I'm tired of people considering for example Mike to be besties with everyone, who by no means had anything substantial with most chs, yet dismissing the UHT just because Glee was shit at actually caring about those three. (Plus, this was who Britt cared about not vice versa, which I feel is an important distinction to make here. All UHT scenes show her caring for Quinn.)

But also like I said, orders could be switched around and this was just imo. I personally think, apart from Santana, Quinn was Britt's favourite person but she cared about others, too.

Well as the same with Quinntana, I can only see Brittany and Santana with someone else in an AU where one of them doesn’t exist, because in a universe where they both do, they always end up together.

BUT assuming there is no Santana (😭) let’s explore this.

It’s actually a tough one with these two characters in particular because they’re both so inconsistently written. Like it’s a lot of head canon and gap filling as opposed to Brittana/Quinntana where Santana’s character is so strong it guides the dynamic of the pairing.

Taking what we know of Britt canonically in a couple with someone who’s “tough on the outside soft on the inside” I could see her having a similar dynamic with Quinn. I think she would be a good partner to Quinn in that she’d reassure her and encourage her and make her feel safe and cut through to her vulnerability the way she does with Santana.

Where I think they’d struggle though, is I’m not sure Quinn would fully understand Brittany. Like I just don’t know if she’d get her quirks and I think in turn that would hurt Brittany, because one of the things she loves about Santana is how much she gets her.

That being said, I think Quinn understands Britt more than people give her credit for (she laughs along with her shade sometimes with Santana as if she’s in the know), but that’s obv on a friendship level. I don’t think she has a deep enough understanding of who Britt is at her core, and idk maybe that’s bc she’s never needed to try understand her that deeply, and so maybe she could if they were in a romantically relationship. But personally I just see these two as friend vibes.
