can a DRAFT post be flagged by tumblr staff as explicit? It includes a photograph of my hand? HAND. Now in the midst of getting myself unflagged as explicit. I was so happy to return to tumblr... tumblr, the community. But right now, the bureaucracy of it all is making me downright angry.

Okay I have been talking about a giveaway for a couple weeks now and I plan on doing it starting Oct 1st and picking two winners on Samhain.

I have a question for you guys though. To preface first- I did a giveaway last year on my main blog and I did NOT make it a requirement “must be following me”. For me personally that doesn’t sit right with me, bc I think if someone who isn’t following me sees it and wants to be a part of the giveaway, they think “oh I’ll just follow this person and reblog it” and I don’t like…THAT…being the reason that people follow me. I love how free form tumblr is and you can follow and unfollow at will!! That is the beauty of this site! Which is why I would prefer if people follow me just because they want to, or don’t follow me bc you don’t care for my blog. I don’t want you to follow me just bc you want to be a part of a giveaway!

So anyway I was thinking of doing this giveaway with the same mindset, I want to give away some cool witchy things to any witch who wants a chance to win them and it really doesn’t bother me if you are following me or not!

But my problem is that yes, I am torn because you all have been so welcoming to me in the witch community and I know the traditional reason for a giveaway is to say thank you specifically to your followers and just show your appreciation for the interaction you have with them. (Bc I have had many lovely convos with so many of you!)

I am torn! What do you guys think?

ETA: I guess my main question is- I would like to keep the giveaway open to all blogs whether they follow me or not, but I don't know if that is disrespectful to my followers, because you guys are amazing and generally these things are done in appreciation for you!

Basically I just want to bless two witches out in tumblrdom!!

12 Years Later, Marvel Has Another Big Captain America Problem

Captain America hasn't had a must-read comic book in over a decade, and this could damage the Sentinel of Liberty's brand as a character.

This is stupid! Last year's Sentinel of Liberty series, the Outer Circle saga, was one of my favorites! It was sparing of outlandish crossovers (still too many for my taste, but better than the current norm). It had a positive resolution, and involved Steve Rogers' closest friends and family. It's among my favs, and I've been a reader since 1966.

The Ed Brubaker series was a stunner, back 12 years ago, but to expect nothing but one blockbuster comic series after another is asking comics to be like the movies. That's unsustainable for the movies - why any different for comics?

People get tired of paying $$$ for myriad crossovers and intricate, sometiimes baffling, scenarios. Issue after issue, title after title, chasing the same bad guys/themes, burns fans.

No wonder fanfictions are so popular! The majority of them resolve much quicker, and with better story lines, than many top-tier titles.

This mindset overtaxes readers, especially the younger ones, who can't afford this folderol! We need to be attracting younger readers, not pushing them away.

Marvel, you need to drastically cut back pushing major series, with complicated crossovers. Your modus operandi has lost it's connection to comic book roots, and alienates even the old-timers.

Please try to return to comics that resolve in a few issues. Not everything needs to be mind-numbingly complicated. There will always be a need for major series, but NOT EVERY FREAKING YEAR for every freaking character!

Change it up! Be spontaneous! Return to the short shots.
