artist's permission grumbling
I got a message from tattoo artist that one of his client bringed him my drawing to get tattooed and if i know about it. I had no idea, nobody ever asked me, if they can get tattoed something by me. I keep finding reposts, shitty edited, without source, with thousands of notes and comments like “who’s the artist?” (while OP has under 100 notes). Seriously, with that google reverse image search there is no longer acceptable excuse, that you couldn’t find an artist to ask him for permission. That function is like three years old, people still don’t know about it or what? I have no reason to refuse someone permission to use my work in some personal non-commercial way. But it’s nice if they ask, because it’s nice TO KNOW. It’s warming to know, that somebody enjoys your art so much that they want to wear it on their skin. But when i acknowledge it from tattooist who just happened to recognize my stuff from the internet, that’s kind of cold. Especially when it comes to personal non-fanartish works. Anyway, thanks to all people, who are letting artists to know like that, it's really appreciated, especially when it comes to bad stuff, like that asshat who was selling my fanarts on ebay. Gaaah.
