I’m gonna share my thoughts on what’s to come for Gruvia
Okay so, I’ve been loving the Gruvia content that’s been coming out. Truly I do, I’m living for it.
So much has happened for Gruvia, and Juvia (Our Juvia, the real Juvia) hasn’t even appeared in most of it
Gray has encountered so many versions of Juvia, and those who read my analyses religiously know that I’ve been theorizing something big about to happen between Gray and Juvia; because of this separation Gray has been confronted with future possibilities with Juvia. He was introduced to his hypothetical child that edolas Gray and Juvia gave birth to, and he’s straight up OBSESSED with Greige.
My big question is “What is gonna happen when Gray and Juvia reunite” That to me is something I ask myself as Gray’s Juvia Brain Rot continues to take over his brain. (Thanks to that Tumblr User who described Gray having Juvia Brain Rot)
There is just so much build up at this point, I can’t anticipate the possibilities anymore. Because it’s reached the peak for me and what ever happens will be underwhelming. As much I hope to see Gray run into Juvia’s arms to frantically ask if they could start a family that very second, I know deep down that’s not gonna happen. But like at this point it wouldn’t even be out of character.
“Juvia means the World to Me”
“I swear, I’ll make her mine”
“I don’t want to be happy. I want to make Juvia happy.”
I wonder how far Hiro will take this. How far will he make Gray go to taking the initiative with Juvia head on. Gray has made massive progress about being open with his feelings towards Juvia. Gray can shout to the world about how dedicated he is to Juvia when she’s not there. When Juvia is there, it takes a bit out of him to say it with his chest.
There have been just a lot of foreshadowing regarding Gray’s Relationship with Juvia. At this point it’s about him making the move.
What Juvina said still haunts me to this day:
I know this line was to prompt Gray admitting to wanting to over come his insecurities before committing himself to Juvia, but I wonder if he’s overcoming that insecurity in Entir ( I think that’s where they are currently ) or if he’s in that process right now because he broke free of his “own selfish desires” for the sake of Juvia’s Happiness.
Possibly his insecurity lies within dealing with his past and feeling at fault for the loss of his loved ones. His pride crumbled while seeing Juvia die in his arms, and Gray now recognizes that he has a journey of overcoming who he used to be so he can become someone that can be part of a Future with Juvia. A future without guilt and self loathing.
That illusion was truly an ultimate test that I don’t think many of us have fully realized. Gray was given the option to live in a world forever where he is given the life he wanted. A life where his father didn’t have to die, where his teacher and the other one Ultear didn’t need to sacrifice themselves, and still have a future with Juvia and Gerige. All of the people he loves, without having any sadness or mourning to carry. PLUS it was on his birthday. I bet if he had chosen to stay in that illusion, he would blow out his birthday candle. Making a wish to stay there forever and solidifying the trance.
BUT HE DIDN’T, Gray rejecting that fantasy can be symbolic of letting go of his past and being content with himself enough to demand reality. He broke free from the “what if” of his literal past to make a real one. That’s why he said “I don’t want to be happy, I want Juvia to make happy.” He said this because Gray knew that fantasy didn’t amount to anything if he was going to end up hurting the only person he had left in his life. Juvia’s happiness is his happiness. That’s what that meant. What is the point of being happy if it ends up hurting someone you love. Gray had an ultimatum and made his choice.
Now all that is left is to see what’s going to happen within the future chapters. And honestly I have no clue what Gray will do next. He is becoming an unpredictable character regarding his limitations to showing his affirmation. More like Hiro is becoming unpredictable with what end he has in mind for Gruvia. I’m sweating bullets.
