A/N: N/N stands for nickname. 

Everyone watched as the two Potter siblings go against each other to race after the snitch. (Y/N) leaned in to the side, bumping onto James, successfully throwing him off balance.

(Y/N) watched as her brother fell, his broom following after him. She snapped her attention back to the snitch that was right in front of her, an arm length away. “That wasn’t fair!” She heard James’ voice shout from behind her. 

 Rolling her eyes, (Y/N) extended her hand to grab the snitch. Suddenly, she felt someone pushed against her. “What the-” her hair stood on end as she almost slipped off her broom if not for the light pressure of someone’s arm wrapped around her waist. Growling, she knew who it was and pushed him away from her. Shaking her head, she sped after the snitch that was a few meters in front of her. 

 The tension grew around them as they got closer to the snitch. When the snitch dove down, (Y/N) followed after with James just right behind her. A few gasps were heard as the snitch grew dangerous close to the ground. James pulled his broom up and (Y/N) continued to chase after the snitch. The snitch stop about 3 feet off the ground. Murmurs and sighs of relief were emitted from some of the audiences as (Y/N) managed to stay on track.

 (Y/N) reached her arm out to grab the snitch but was a few inches short. She tried to lean in as far as she could, but to no avail. Biting her lip, (Y/N) slowly stood on her broom. As she stepped closer to the snitch, it slowly lowered along with her broom. 

 As (Y/N) wrapped her fingers around the snitched, she tumbled forward and off the broom. (Y/N)’s head pounded as loud cheering echoed through her ears. When (Y/N) opened her hands, she stared at the snitch with pride in her eyes.

 Flinching at the sudden contact of someone’s hand on her shoulder, she was helped to stand up on her feet. “I didn’t need your help.” (Y/N) hissed at James before turning away to get away from the teen.

 "You did so great!“ (Y/N) was tackled in a hug. Giggling, (Y/N) pushed away the taller girl. "Thanks, Lily.” James couldn’t help but feel his heart slowly cracking at the sight at his sister and his future girlfriend. If he didn’t know any better, he was quite jealous of Lily. She was the only one (Y/N) would even glance at.

Dusting herself, three more boys approached them. “You were awesome, (Y/N).” Sirius grinned at her only to receive a nod of acknowledgement. “Let’s go?” (Y/N) murmured to Lily as she rubbed her temples. She knew Lily hadn’t heard her as Lily started to fire back comebacks at James’ pick-up lines.

 (Y/N)’s head was spinning, her vision was blurring as she tried to drag her feet off the ground and to the dorms. (Y/N) didn’t get very far before she heard people desperately calling her name. She was now facing the sky. Coughing, the noise around her was slowly replaced by silence and her everything turned black.

Waking up, (Y/N) groaned as she felt warmth pressed around her hand. James jerked his hand away from (Y/N) when he felt her shift lightly. “James?” Upon hearing his own name, he visibly tensed and fiddled with his fingers.

“Um,” James cleared his throat, “Hey, (N/N).” He nervously smiled. “What happened?” (Y/N) asked as she rubbed her temple lightly. “You, um- you passed out.” James stuttered, still quite nervous around his sister.

Rolling her eyes, (Y/N) scoffed at James. “I know that, genius. I want to know what happened.”

James flinched under (Y/N)’s glare that he was met with once he turned his head up to look at her. His eyes traveled down to her left hand which was gripping the sheets tightly. “Madam Pomfrey said you earned a concussion when you fell off your broom.”

“Oh.” Was all (Y/N) said before she attempted to stand up, but her throbbing headache caused her knees to soften and fall. “Careful.” James said softly as he helped (Y/N) up on her feet.

Hissing lightly at his touch, (Y/N) swatted his hand away. James flinched, causing (Y/N)’s eyes to soften. “Sorry.” she muttered before walking out of the hospital wing.

Walking down the hall, she heard feet shuffle behind her but chose to ignore it and continued on her journey to the Slytherin common room.

When someone grabbed her arm, (Y/N) visibly flinched as she was yanked back to face the teen that harshly held her arm. “What the hell!” She shrieked before calming down only to realize it was James.

“I- uh, why do you hate me?” James blurted making (Y/N) scoff as she pulled her arm back. “You of all people should know.” She said coldly. “It’s been two years! Can’t you let it go?!” He raised his voice causing her to visibly cringe at his volume. “Let it go?!” She raised her voice just a bit louder than his, defiance obvious in her tone. “You’re not even going to apologize?”

James glared at the younger girl as she crossed her arms. "Well? I'm waiting." (Y/N) practically spat. James chose to remain silent, as if the words were stuck down his throat. Sure, he could openly admit he felt terrible, but he doesn’t want to apologize when he was the one that felt betrayed. 

(Y/N)’s eyes started to water as she furrowed her eyebrows to glare back. “I guess your pride is so big, it’s apparently bigger than your mouth.” She scoffed before turning away to let a few tears drop down her cheeks. “Thanks for nothing.” She hissed with such venom lacing in her voice. Sniffling, she wiped the tears off her face before turning on her heel, “I hope you never bother me again.”

*James walks by in just his trousers and white shirt*

Harriet: “ Professor, can I ask you something? “

Harriet: “ Well I did think of Voldemort at first, but then I remembered that night on the train, with the dementor. “

Professor Lupin: I’m very impressed, I’d say that what you fear is fear itself. This is very wise. “

* As Remi looks at Harriet and all she can see is James and Lily. She has to clear her throat of the knot that had formed. *

Harriet: Before I fainted, I heard something.

Professor Lupin: “ Ah well, dementors force us to relive our very worst memories. Our pain becomes their power. “

Harriet: “ I think it was my mother the night she was murdered.”

Professor Lupin: “ You know the very first time I saw you, Harriet, I recognized you immediately. They’re your mother Lily’s”

Professor Lupin: “ Not by your scar, by your eyes. ”

* Harriet’s eyes widen as she looks at the professor. *

* A memory suddenly flashes in Remi’s eyes. She has to turn away to collect herself and quickly wipe the tears the memory has created away. *

Professor Lupin: “Not only was she a singularly gifted witch, but an uncommonly kind woman too. She had a way of seeing the beauty in others, even perhaps especially when that person could not see it for themselves. And your father on the other hand ad a rather talent for trouble.”

Proffeser Lupin: “ You’re more like them then you know Harriet.”
