Thank you all for checking in on me last night. Depression's just been really bad lately along with other things.
Everyone check them out. They're good peoples.
Haggis, sporrans, and kilts worn "au naturel" ;) Granted, that may be fantasy rather than stereotypes of your fabulous country....hehehehe
Well, I do eat haggis but not very often.
I don't own a kilt, though I wore one for choir when I was younger. And sporrans are only worn by men.
So if this is a stereotype about me, then no.
If it's a stereotype of any man attending a Burns supper or a wedding (particularly if they are in the wedding party), then it's pretty spot on though you would have to ask the individual men about the 'au naturel' bit :P
(Although really, underwear should not be worn)
✔ [I'd make it HUGE, but I had to c/p this one as I don't even know where the check-mark is in my character list...lol]
omg I am so flattered by this I can't even tell you :\
gryphknight replied to your post “Also this bake sale marks the second time I have iced a human ear onto...”
Where are you getting all these ears? And, are the donors aware that you are taking them?
So far only one ear source has been used. However if a third ear becomes required I will have to branch out.
I was re-tagged by gryphknight
rule 1: always post the rules
rule 2: answer the questions from the person who tagged you and write 11 of your own
rule 3: tag 10 (or 11) (or potato) people and link them to the post
rule 4: actually tell the people you tagged them
What is the one (up to three) comfort food that always calms you and you would not be able to live without having it available?
I am unable to eat when I am not calm, so I do not know whether there actually is something which would fit this requirement.
What is the one creative work, in any medium, that summarizes who you want to be?
Didn't I mention I am a philistine? I don't have that sort of sentimental connection to art.
There is no art piece I can think of - and there are not many - that would summarise me in a metaphysical, a metaphorical or any other way.
Maybe something like that exists - and considering the sheer amount of creative work which exists in the world, that's actually quite likely - but I simply haven't seen it yet and thus I cannot name it.
Have you ever done something that you ~immediately~ regretted doing but continued to do it bc of peer pressure, fear of not following through, or because you always wanted to try it?
Yes. I participated in ostracising people at school - at those times when it was not me who was being ostracised.
Also, national service. Went through with it because in large parts because the other guys in my year said it’s the proper thing to do for a man. The thing, at large nobody was enthusiastic about it. One guy just has to start, then everybody else falls like domino stones. “You’re not gonna apply for civil service, are you?” “Me? No, never.” Nodding and acknowledgement all around. “Me neither.” It was a tragicomical observation of group psychology.
I there a piece of music that sends chills down your spine and transports you momentarily to whatever you define as bliss? What is it?
There are music pieces that have that effect, but it seems to be dependant on the mood of the day or the hour.
I know that seems like a lousy answer, but I could list maybe between 60 or 100 pieces of music that had that effect for one or two days over the last 15 years or so - though oftentimes recurring after a certain amount of time. At the moment, there isn't really one. I listen to movie scores / soundtracks to have a background noise when I work, but I wouldn't describe that as particularly blissful.
To not be a total killjoy: Further by VNV Nation, Beethoven's Symphony 7 Movement 2, Wild Child by Enya, Mummer's Dance by Loreena McKennitt, Illusion by VNV Nation, Roter Sand by Rammstein, Sarabande by Haendel, Nebel by Rammstein, The Surface of the Sun by John Murphy, Citizen Erased by Muse, Nothin' by Robert Plant & Alison Krauss, Parade by Hirasaw Susumu, Between Two Points by Glitch Mob, Time is Running Out by Muse
I could continue this list for a while...
[Heavy one] Given the choice between being given limited immortality that would require living until the very last human was dead, and only then being allowed to die….OR….consigning the one person you love the most to the same fate, without their knowledge or consent….which would you choose?
Limited immortality for myself. Judging by the very few experiences with near death I had, the panic and desperation were so profound, consuming and overwhelming, I would do anything to avoid feeling the same again for as long as possible.
If you could be any magical / mythical / mystical creature for one single day, which would it be and how would you spend that day?
A lich raising an undead army. No really, I'm rather comfortable with being non-magical.
Do you have a “secret shame” romantic longing for someone (in)famous? Who is it?
I don't. I honestly never had a "celebrity crush" or something like that.
List three articles of clothing (loosely defined) that you absolutely cannot live without.
Long man's socks.
Unicolour cotton shirts. I hate the new materials they use to make clothes, I feel like being wrapped in plastics. My precious skin needs to breathe.
A pair of black featureless leather shoes you can wear in any season for any weather and for almost any occasion - granted you live in Middle Europe and have appropriate socks.
Erudite, Amity, Dauntless, Abnegation, Candor….or Divergent….or Factionless?
???
Why did you agree to participate in this?
I never did.
[I take the freedom to break the rules not add 11 new questions or tag people - I would only tag the same people anyway and I see this going into a potentially infinite loop that dooms us all - better stop it now than later]
Summoning you as a God(dess): 1. You would be Auratus — the diety of Listening; 2) I would sacrifice my ability to speak so that I could listen better; 3) You would have the power to see into humans hearts and sould to hear what they cannot say; 4) Animals — owls, cats, and geckos; 5) Your holiday would include music derived from the sounds of nature, foods that tickled the senses, and story telling through pantomime (cause we can't speak) :)
Oops....5 things to summon you: the horn of an aurox, a crystal wind chime, an hourglass, a small water fountain, and one of your animals (listed in my other ask) :)
I'm don't want to sacrifice your ability to speak! You shall remain a mere mortal in terms of ability to listen.
And my boss found a dead owl on his sundeck the other day. I hope it wasn't part of a sacrifice to me :|
Green pls :)
