The guard walked behind the Princess as they made their way to the cabinet, her long fluffy dress would've already swept the entire floor if it wasn't for the new maid holding it. The dress itself was embroidered with intricate flower designs over the bust area, as the many layers fluffed it out.
As they got close to the door the guard quickened his pace going in front of the Princess and her maid opening the door to the room already filled with the biggest aristocrats of the kingdom. Before entering the Princess graced him with a soft smile causing butterflies in the boy's stomach to explode, no wonder King Enji chose her for the Prince's future wife. She was always so nice and sweet. She could put a smile on anyone's face with just her warm eyes. The boy's soft smile simply grew at the memory, as he soon caught himself. Straightening his back he looked around a little, hoping no one noticed.
Just as his nerves calmed a loud shriek was heard from the room as many voices started screaming together in fear and agony, sounds of tables being thrown around were combined with screams for help and mercy.
The boy quickly started bumping in the door trying to open it but it was locked. As he started trying to break it soon the screams stopped which caused the boy's face to freeze in fear as he finally made a final push breaking the door open.
Limp bodies were all over the floor blood splattered over them as a blonde girl was laying over one of the men biting on his neck a slurping sound coming from her, not far from the door with its back to him was a red-skinned girl looking creature, tail wagging behind its back.
It slowly turned to look at the boy, poisonous green eyes locking with his as the glow calmed they became almost black.
The act itself caused the boy to freeze in shock, in his short life he had never seen anything like this. Taking advantage of his surprise the demon ran to the girl, hovering overlord Clifford, as in the process she took a small statue from one of the tables throwing it at the window with it while running towards it.
The boy finally broke from his trance as he ran towards them trying to catch the monsters as he took a hold of the demon dress just as it jumped from the window two big wings growing from its back causing the boy to fall in fear and surprise ripping a piece of the dress in the process.
And as he watched them disappear, sitting there surrounded by the lifeless bodies of the people he was supposed to keep safe, blood splattered all around him, the other guards finally running in the room checking everyone's pulse, he looked at the fabric in his hand eyes growing as realization hit.
