ken died during the portal test. instead of fiddleford getting sucked through, something malfunctioned, and it caused an arc of electricity to go directly at stanford. mandy shoved him out of the way and took the hit herself. unfortunately, it instantly killed her. (don't ask how they moved faster than electricity i couldn't tell ya. call it a gut instinct ig)

that's what all of the squiggles are: they're where the lightning originally burnt him

the axolotl reincarnated her and placed him on keeping an eye on the other kens and to make sure they don't leave their dimension (some of them can be quite dangerous).

(he's not so mad about the boobs still being there, he's more mad that the axolotl removed their tattoos and left his boobs annoyingly large (it's irrational, cut them some slack, she just got reincarnated)

so she's a genius but prefers punching things as a method of problem solving.
