   Noella didn't know how she got to this place. Or why she was here. But she did know that this place was creepy, and she was getting out. She pushed herself up with her hands, then quickly collapsed back to the ground. 

   "My knees. What's wrong with my legs?" She whispered shakily to herself, rubbing her thighs and staring at them. It was so cold. She could her breath in the air. 

    If she couldn't walk, she'd have to crawl. She rolled over onto her belly, shivering as the ice cold floor touched her bare skin. Noella crawled with her elbows, slowly dragging herself out of the cave. 

        The wind blew harshly into her face, darkness eclipsing her sight. The sun was low and looked as if it were to set soon. It probably wouldn't be very wise to go far from shelter but she didn't who or what would come back to greet her if she stayed. Then again, she didn't know what could hurt her if she left either. 

    Noella felt her eyes burn with tears. She was doomed. All she could was hope. "Help me!" The young girl yelled repeatedly, hearing the echo of her voice across the snowy desert. 

   She wrote S.O.S. in the snow. Then remembered her locket. Her mother had given it to her when she was younger. It was supposed to summon a guardian. Or an angel. Someone that could help her when she was in desperate need of assistance. 

       Noella took the locket in her hands, and wished very hard for someone to save her. "Please." She whispered softly into the locket, her teeth chattering.

AU Headcanon!

When Tim dies, and finds out a Guardian/Angel had to watch every member of his family grieve, he asks how they took it.

"Not bad at all really. A few sniffles. They stopped crying in a week. It was a nice change from all the wailing and...."

When Tim looks stricken, she backtracks.

"Kid, I was kidding. Sarcasm. Your family is the worst I've ever had to watch. How could you even think I was serious?"

Tim doesn't respond to that.

What the hell is the Guardian!Verse?

Well sit down and let me tell you:

I like AUs. I just do. In this one, all heroes who are murdered are given a choice when they die; either they can chill in the afterlife with martinis (shaken not stirred) or they can become Guardian's; angle like spirits who spend a century watching over those on Earth (and slaying evil spirits).  After fifty years they can take a physical form. After a century, they can return to Earth to live their life again with all their memories intact, no more Guardian duty.

Tim Drake is killed in a car crash. He becomes a guard for two reasons; to solve his own murder, and more importantly to help out. Because Tim would refuse to take any breaks while people still needed him.

He's paired with another Guardian whose around one year from getting her 100 years, and she shows him the ropes. She used to be a friend of Jason's when he was a guard (we all know how that turned out). There are two rules; on Tuesday's they wear plaid, and there is no alerting anyone to who you really are/that you're still around.

Tim is not a fan of the second rule. (The first one is okay though; plaid is comfy)

So Tim is allowed back to Earth a year after his death. He takes to his job well. His Guardian partner is actually not half bad. Their boss keep his distance. Tim can't solve his own murder, but the other stuff keeps him happy. He babysits Lian who is training to be a Guardian upstairs. All is actually pretty good.

Until Dick is almost killed. By what seems to be just an accident. But Tim can't shake it off as that. So with his reluctant roommate in tow (Tim, I am three months from being done with this shit, can't I just order a pizza while you play Mr. Paranoid?) there is some investigating.

In short: The people who killed Tim are now out for the rest of the bats. Undead Badassery begins.

Note: I'm just going to state this outright; I am fully aware about the opinion of OCs. I know all too well about the backlash. I avoid them like a sickness, not because I can't write them well, but because putting an OC into anything is a death warrent for the work. However, this verse, there was no way around it. I don't know any dead DC characters in what would be pre 52 verse that would fit the role I would need them to play. Lian is too young. Everyone else wouldn't fit (they would have to be dead for 99 years which makes my job much harder). So I was forced to create an OC, for purposes of telling the story. Not as a love interest, not as a focus, but as a role that needed to be filled. So yes. I could write a lot on OC's and their reputation in online work but that would be a rant so I shall end here.
