In his conclusion, he was truly inadequate, not because he was unworthy. It was just that he didn't understand the value, until he finally saw someone with a heart. He now lived in the light of that, in the soothing presence of that someone. Two and a half years had passed, and it had been a long time since he'd left. Of the habits Gui Mian had acquired after he admitted to himself that he, in fact, lived in that place, perhaps the ones that seemed simplest to the eye were the ones that held the greatest meaning.

Cashing in the March bonus prompt for @guardianbingo: Take a leap

Not really sure what the story is here, but when I started sketching I had a vague mental image of Zhao Yunlan hurdling a fence, and then Da Qing decided to join him, and somehow they ended up in a... junkyard? But clearly the SID is always ready to leap into action!! and thus the prompt is filled. 😅

(also this pencil claims to be HB but it's like the smeariest thing ever so there was no way to polish this bad boy)

My final Weilan Weeks 2022 drabble, for Week 5: Flowers & Trees / Mountains & Rivers / Sun & Moon. Where Shen Wei really is a plum blossom yao like Shen San guessed (or alternatively, a Flower Tribe Yashou).

In Dragon City, winter prowls the streets with teeth. It is the time of year when cats, snakes, and humans alike hide away.

But Shen Wei isn’t afraid of the cold. Especially not when the SID’s warmth shines through its windows, lighting up the courtyard.

He plants his feet in the dirt and unfurls. Rooted, breaths swaying slow, the blossoms itching under his skin finally allowed to unveil their snow-soft hearts.

A sudden warmth on his bark; for the first in a long time, he doesn’t think metal, doesn’t think blade. Instead he stretches, and lets petals adorn his love.
