Okay so when I was younger, my dad had this boss and she was a lesbian. I've never met her, only gotten to know her through his tirades and experiences.
Well for a really long time every mention of her would get a grumbled "that bitch" in her general direction.
So one day I finally got up the nerve to ask him why he's always so mad whenever she's mentioned. Is it because she's a lesbian? (Now, at the time I didn't even know what that meant but I always assumed it was something bad, from the way other people had reacted to the word.)
He looked straight at me and said, "Now what's that got to do with anything? She's a bitch because she's always screwing up the working schedule and she calls me all the time to pick up more shifts. Spare money can be great but I don't want to miss out on you guys, do I?"
And basically the moral of the story is that a person's sexuality has little to no effect on whether they're a good person or one who screws up all the time or a well meaning extremist or anything. It's your actions that define you and don't let something stupid like skin color or sexuality or hair color or other dumb stuff let you take away the happiness of others.
