Sunday I woke up all inspired and made a post inviting everyone out to Lois Jackson Park to create... The response online was great but it was cloudy and the high wasn't supposed to break 55 so I wasn't expecting much of a turnout...in the end I felt like it was a success though! Despite the weather the park was full of people being all kinds of artistic and athletic together. Finally got it all cut into a little 1 minute video. My most epic creation yet. No tools, no references, all free flow, 20 hours of work over three days. This was the first spot I created at when I first arrived in Chicago this summer and it is the last spot I'm hitting up before I head back to Texas. My equinox piece. It will likely be washed away manana so if you want to see it tomorrow morning is your best bet! The portrait was done by my friend @heatherscholl who came out to create with me. It seems like lots of "woke" people hate on Christian people and religious people...and to an extent I can understand the animosity but most modern day American religious groups go out and serve their communities in ways they deem important. They invest money and time and make a routine of doing things they deem positive. Imagine if "woke" people went out and served in the way they found most positive. Instead of going to expensive "transformational" festivals people went out and invested their money in transforming the fucked up shit we have grown accustomed to encountering. Imagine that all the negative energy used to hate out of reach oppressors was used to serve the every day oppressed! Imagine if instead of donating to #BernieSanders, #HillaryClinton endorsing ass hat, people donated to each other in shit positions. How many people would be in better positions if we watched out for each other instead of putting our faith in some politician. We have all sorts of technology AND we have the streets, and we have the numbers. We just need to put our faith in each other. When we are united the government is at our mercy. When we are truly united among one another banks and insurance and their whole business model becomes obsolete. This whole woke movement is bullshit if you're not active. The summer is coming to an end but the #GuerillaBeautification continues! Here are some of the things @roddquinn and I have put in the streets this summer. Only seen by those at the right place at the right time before getting washed away...and with #Chicago weather that's rather frequent. Except for a few angry security guards and 1 Vandalism ticket I'll be going to court for 9.19.19 it has been the most epic summer of creating ever! Today's chance of rain is diminishing so after some breakfast and coffee it is likely we will be hitting the streets... probably gonna work under a bridge just to be a little precautionary. Btw if you haven't followed Rodd's page go follow it and see all the other work he does. Chalk is a pretty new medium to both of us and we both have lots of different art you can purchase from us to keep the public creations going strong! Shots I took from a couple of days ago when @roddquinn and I went to #GrantSkatePark and got in a little #GuerillaBeautification with his massive owl and my freehand circles. Once I get by some wifi I'll upload some slow motion videos I took of skaters jumping over the art. Hands down the coolest place we have put some art but also the most challenging...especially for Rodd. Hard to stand on the ramp without slipping. All the creativity surrounding us was awesome. Hearing different skaters give each other tips to each other to improve their craft. Every body pushing every body. The art seemed super appreciated. Once again the area covered in art was far too large to record without a drone.
