Maybe she would learn to coexist with the ghosts that continue to follow her around.
Though, perhaps that thought could wait a little, because this wasn’t the many ghosts that passed by her whenever she reminisced, whenever she thought of the memories that should have been buried, locked away so she wouldn’t cry over them. No, the man standing before her was truly there, in her sight. The general was as real as she was.
( if they were even real; she knows that the Hive was not actually real like she believed it was when she first got there; how absolutely naive of her, now that she thought of it. )
Deep breaths, Lucina, she thought to herself; it really was like seeing someone come back from the dead, but it wasn’t. Lucina wondered if he remembered her, if he remembered their time together - because she had been burdened with having to watch loved ones disappear, then forget it all over.
But finally, finally, after standing off to the side, does the princess speak - a soft smile on her face, to match her tone of pure nostalgia.
“You haven’t changed, since I last saw you back in Hive City,
Sir Darius. You still carry yourself with that very pride I have
come to recognize.”
Maybe, things would be better, in this life.
