This May to celebrate Decoration Day we are recognizing the United States Colored Troops and the Montfort Point Marines during our Gullah Campfire Supper with Stories and Songs. Here the history and stories of the USTC including Gullah men from this area. Robert Smalls who served in the Navy shortly after surrendering the Planter. Hear our guest speaker tell us of men who later joined the Marines and served in the unit of Negro men in the Montfort Point Marines. This historical, farm to table event takes place on our farm under majestic Live Oak trees around campfires. The meal will be prepared in true Gullah tradition, including fresh local produce.
