Finally finished with the RG Hi-Nu. The build for this kit is fantastic and the finished product turned out great. The Unicorn aesthetic came through great on the kit thanks to all of the spots the frame shows through on the model.

Gonna take a small break from working on this to finish painting the baby's room and then I'll get started on the Hyper Mega Bazooka Launcher expansion kit.

*makes airplane noises* My base kit for the @gunplabuildersassociation build contest. My current plan is to customize it into some sort of stealth fighter, so I'm reading up (mostly Wikipedia) on existing stealth fighters to find what about their design makes them so stealthy. I want to make sure it looks good both in both transformation modes. The Anubaze is on the backburner for now, since the contest has an actual deadline, but I'll likely keep Pledge gloss coating it in the meantime. #gunpla #gundam #plamo #plamodel #gunplawip #gundam00 #overflag #sandiegogunpla

RG Hi-Nu WIP Decals+panel lining applied, now to take it all apart, fix a few paint chips and flat coat the armor. The 'psychoframe' detail will all be staying glossy.

I had Delphi and SIMP decals for this one, but in the end I mostly used the Delphi ones. There's something about them that's much easier to use than SIMP's offering. Added a few decals from the HG Unicorn waterslide set to make it resemble the Hi-Nu ver. Ka's markings and to tie this model to it's concept (that being a "Unicorn testbed" Hi-Nu, hence the lack of Amuro-specific markings) better.

The funnels are half painted and I'm hoping to finish those up this week, but we'll see how my energy levels hold up.

I'm currently in the process of moving, so I can't work on my gunpla, and therefore can't post much here. So instead I will post some old pictures of my second ever kitbash, first finished custom, and first attempt at something way beyond my skill level at the time. Overflag - Stealth Fighter Made for the #gunplabuildersassociation Cannon Fodder contest Now that the contest is over, I can post about my completed build. The inspiration came from stealth jet fighters; I looked at modern planes to see what their design philosophy was, and tried to emulate that as best I could on the Overflag. The results were mixed. The Flag's base design is that of a transforming plane, so a lot of real world plane design doesn't fit well. (The tail fins being on the legs, the front of the jet mode being a detachable gun, etc.) Additionally I didn't think alot of the execution out, so some of my ideas came out looking half-complete (the top of the gun and the sides of the wrists). But overall I glad I was able to finish on time, and it was my first time top coating, so I'm glad that turned out well. Technically, since I haven't yet finished my Anubaze, this is my first finished build. As for my next build, I'll be returning to an old build I've been planning for at least several years and I finally have the tools and skills to make it happen. Of the two customs I've built so far, my greatest construction challenge that I've made for myself is the creation of 3D shapes out of plaplate.
