So when I get MG Gunpla, the first thing I do is paint the pilots. And the seated Mikazuki for my MG Barbatos Lupus came out really bad the first time, right? so i stripped the paint off and painted him a second time, which is what you see here. still not ideal. And I was all like “nnnoooo fuuuck when you open the cockpit Mika’s gonna look all funny 💔💔💔”. The inner frame has an opening door on the front of the cockpit and I keep looking at/making little touch ups to Mika via opening the door. and I didn’t take pics, because I was just like “oh, i’ll show him off when the kit’s all done!”

Just now, I finished putting all the armor on the inner frame, and I got to the instruction telling me how to open the cockpit. this is what it looks like opened.

LITERALLY ALL YOU CAN SEE IS A SLIVER OF THE BACK OF MIKA’S HELMET?? THE DOOR ON THE INNER FRAME DOESNT OPEN WITH THE ARMOR?? I SPENT ALL THAT TIME ON PAINT CORRECTIONS JUST FOR IT TO ALL BE COVERED UP EHEBFJEBSJSJEDBDB

Barbatos Lupus Rex voted the favorite MS by Italian fans

Gundam.info has announced the results of the (very poorly run lmao) favorite MS poll from last year. Nu of course won the overall vote, and was also the regional favorite in Japan and Hong Kong. Lupus Rex was voted #9 overall and #1 by Italian fans. They displayed celebratory artwork for this drawn by the illustrator ikuyoan. (Afaik the Sunrise logo in bottom left logo means this is officially commissioned/paid. Maybe they waited to post the results cause they were commissioning artists.)

ASW-G-11 Gundam GAYsion Rebake

Happy (late) Pride! One of these years I will actually start a pride project before the month starts. Not this year, but some day.

I've always loved the Gusion Rebake and I've been looking for something novel to do with this kit for years. I got the idea for an inverted gradient camo pattern and It seemed like a perfect fit. The rainbow pieces of armor were primed white, then painted with a gradient using Mr. Color clear colors, then masked and primed and painted again. It was a process but I am very happy with the effect.

Some of the accent pieces have an iridescent coating to them but unfortunately it did not photograph as well as I hoped it would.
