A huff , hesitation before Kat removes it completely to meet Nico’s line of sight . “ Hey ... um --- I’ve heard some things about you ... I was wondering if you’d be able to help me with something ? I don’t know if it’ll work , but I want to try it . “

there’s a part of him that wants to believe in those words ; redemption would taste sweeter if he could / but maybe he doesn’t deserve it, not after all the horrors his broken mirror has done, after all the pain and death that one had caused. it’s not HIS fault, but guilt stil burns deep within his newly - found soul / and he can’t help but wonder, sometimes, how the other feels ; not that it’ll change anything. they’re not the same anymore, and they’ll never be the same again.

❝ these are wise words. ❞ it takes him long enough to offer a reply, to find his voice in the middle of too much chaos inside / it’ll get better, eventually. he holds tight on that hope. ❝ thank you. ❞ and he doesn’t believe in her words ( he tried, he really did ) but it feels reassuring to know someone can believe in him.
