Another true story in my repressed life...

We just sat there on a log the two of us. Best friends. We were both 13.

Peter looks over at me and says jokingly " Do you want to suck my dick?"

I look over at him to gauge his expression. I couldn't read if he was serious or just pulling one of those games that teenage boys do, teasing another guy of being gay.

I wanted to say yes. More than anything I wanted to say yes. I wanted to get on my knees in front of him and suck his dick. But all I could say was no. If I was wrong, it would have ruined our friendship and made life a living hell for me at our small school.

I look back on that day and wish I had said yes. I knew in my heart that he wanted me to. I can still see his crystal blue eyes staring back at me. It was a moment of so much unsaid feelings between us. If only I could talk to my 13 year old self and tell him that it was ok to like him. Where would I be today of I had?

Songs for when you fall madly in love with your high school crush

Paris in the Rain: Lauv (I use this song for like, every playlist BUT it’s one of the first songs I showed to said crush and whenever I listen to it now I think about him)

Crush: Tessa Violet (this one is obviously on the list, it explains my feelings. SO. WELL.)

Our Summer(But the acoustic version): TOMORROWXTOGETHER (this is a kpop song, so sorry if you don’t like kpop songs, but the vibe of this one immediately makes me think of cute sunset picnic dates and long walks on the beach so I thought I’d put it in)

Can’t Help Falling In Love: Elvis Presley (this is one of those songs that makes me think of old film reels and old fashioned lovers. A vibe I wish I had with my nonexistent significant other)

La Vie En Rose: Louis Armstrong (this song and the one before it are two of many old classics I listen to daily whenever I’m in a lovesick mood. I’m constantly called an old soul by friends and family, and my music choice and personality definitely confirm that.)

First Date: Frad (taking a sharp turn from the classics, here’s this lofi instrumental. Sometimes when I experience small romantic moments with this person, I imagine it as a movie with this song playing as background music. My moments with this person feel so surreal, as if we’re living in an elaborate film or fanfiction, and this dreamy instrumental fits the aesthetic very well)

Flower: Johnny Stimson (following the more lofi side of this playlist, this song is kind of a traditional love song, the kind you listen to while prancing in a field happily with your loved or something like that)

you’re my world: atlas (of course, the ukulele in this song is almost every indie love song ever. Its kind of a rap based lofi song, only because I know said person likes rap music and this is my way of saying “hey, I listen to rap music too please love me!” But actually, I like listening to this song on dreary school mornings to wake me up, but not too much.)

Absolutely Smitten: dodie (another kind of traditional love song, the kind the two lovers would be listening to at the same time when they realize they love each other. Elaborating more on said crush, he likes me too but we’re not very good for each other. We’re similar, yet so different. I’m crossing my fingers, I really hope we work out! It feels more suspenseful, since we haven’t been able to talk for most of summer except one encounter a few weeks ago, which answered some questions but created ten times as many along with it. I’m glad I got to see him though.)

Cherry Cola: Kuwada (finally, the last song! If you made it through all my rambling, congrats! It’s almost over! I was obsessed with this song sophomore year, the vibe just screams summer love and even though all the freshman obsessed with tik tok lowkey ruined it for me, I still really love this song haha.)

That was a lot longer than my usual playlists, but I figured I’d add my commentary to this one. Also, sorry for being so mia! Every time I sit down to write, I have almost no inspiration, but I’ve been trying. I don’t want to give you guys half-assed stories, so I’ve been taking the time to try and get motivation back before I post anything. Hopefully I’ll be able to get something up before school starts.
