Meanwhile, Frost did his best to climb a tree, slipping a bit in the process, but he did manage to find a safe branch to take cover on. Guy flung one of his now blackened seamitars at him, appearing to have... struck a small chunk of Frost's hair. As opposed to having been sliced through like a knife through butter, that section.. shattered on contact?]

[Frost did their best attempt at a shrug, shaking his head solemnly.]

Sometimes i catch myself mischaracterizing Danny Gaines as this cool, suave guy that smokes, wears jeans jackets, and is.. basically one of the greasers from the book outsiders like Dallas, Steve, or maybe Darry….

But its just because when you think of someone of Danny’s archetype, you think of a dark, street hardened, rugged man But cmon… have you heard his voice-lines? Yes absolutely he probably is a cool guy sometimes, but I think he’s just a guy actually. Sometimes vulnerable, sometimes awkward, and sometimes cool. Definitely standoffish though, especially to new people, but he values every victim that is his friend. Not a lot of people realize how his voice-lines are entirely centred around getting everyone else out, how the only reason he doesn’t panic is because he’s analytical about the situation he’s in, or how he constantly looks for a positive in a bad situation. And also just how he treats the other victims tells me that he’s a good loveable guy (not as much ss leland or sonny, but enough to have been their friend), and that he maybe is just a bit awkward with them in a way he can’t be to strangers. (Ie. the voice-lines for when he gets out of a trap, when the family isn’t near, or how he’s just comforting himself sometimes… a little is projection, and a little is from a person’s hcs i hate.)

And why I compare him to outsiders is because he definitely grew up rough, and I have a bunch of reasons to suspect he was probably adopted in his teenage years. He doesn’t exhibit a bunch of the typical traits we associate with that type of childhood though, which is why I think it’s a little disingenuous to think of him like that. He’s more of a Ponyboy than a Dallas, even then though he’s not entirely like Ponyboy, only in the aspect that we know he’s probably actively trying to make something of himself. That cosmetic where he shows off his chest is definitely something though, i didn’t say he wasn’t confident if he’s wearing that (and also… one of the only fire outfit he got that probably costed money…. His hippie and reg outfit just tells me hes poor😭 bros THE poorest hippie known to man, idk how he bagged maria)
