I’ve had pretty low self esteem lately but I thought I looked cute for a second and I haven’t posted selfies for like 100 years 🎃👻🎃
Hey, a guy can dream 👋🏼
top surgery crowd funding : were in this together , a new resource for top surgery crowd funding
have an idea that , if executed well with YOUR help, could make life so much easier for in-need trans people who cannot afford top surgery.
top surgery generally costs above 6000 here in the US and is often not covered by insurance, or the surgeon doesnt accept insurance. this leaves many trans people scrambling to save money they dont have to eventually afford top surgery, or worse, leaves poor trans folks unavailable to get top surgery in the foreseeable future which can increase the anxiety that often accompanies dysphoria.
so heres the idea : if we could create a singular resource page, a well known resource page to link youcaring pages to to collect for our surgeries from other community members and allies, we could easily distribute wealth among the community to those in need.
some blogs on this website have well over 6000 followers, and if we could get there and everyone donated just one dollar a day to a youcaring of a trans person who needs it, we could cover this community. we can and should take care of one another, we share a struggle and should also share the means to overcome it.
i know personally as a transguy that my dysphoria causes me great anxiety and my lack of funds has always been something that keeps me feeling trapped, but we dont have to be trapped. we dont have to struggle this way. we can and we should come together to help one another.
so heres my idea and general lay out
the blog functions as a kind of meeting point. you submit your gofundme for surgery, and then the followers from this resource can donate small bits from each of us to raise money for you quicker than a traditional post you hope circulates from a main blog, which can take a rather long time. this would cut that middle man out, making us all have this common ground.
if this sounds like a good idea to you, give the blog a follow and help me get it up on its legs.
Dysphoria hits me hard today so I try to still love my body
