QUOTE (ElementJester)
it never uses any of its potential
No, she goes full on Power Rangers on us by putting on a "Space CQC Enhancer", which can be described simply as "pointy black and gold knight armor". She finished the fight in about a minute once the armor comes on, goes back to the auction house where nothing at all happened while the Lovecraft Yuri Theather was going on, and scares away every single criminal she was going to arrest. Only Nodens is left in the auction house, and he explains that Male Protagonist was chosen to be the star of a S&M/Bondage-centric reality show. I don't know nor want to know what sexual kinks the makers have, but I have the sinking feeling they're all going to show up here. The episode ends with Nyaruko apparently ending her stay on Earth since she got rid of all immediate threats to Male Protagonist. The scene is played as if its supposed to be dramatic, but it ends up having about as much gravity as the moon, especially since she comes back not two minutes later, saying that she intends to protect him from any other dangers that might arise. And to get in his pants or something. Conclusion: As I said at the beginning, this episode is slightly better than the previous one, but only by a slim margin. The story moves faster, and things certaintly happen, not that those things are an improvement, but nevertheless. The themes of the mundane and wasting potential continue to be prevalent. But what makes this episode stand out in comparison to the last one is the rape scene. I would have a much better opinion of this episode, had this scene not been included. It's particularly unsettling when both people look like 12-15 year olds, and the entire scenario is played mostly for laughs. The rest of the episode was bland in the same fashion of the last episode, but that scene just makes things uncomfortable, and I'm genuinely worried about what is to come.
