Destiny 2: A Drink For Dogs Of War
The wry voice crackled over the comms: "They turned the H.E.L.M. into a ship. Funniest shit I've ever seen."
Mardin frowned, setting his Arcadia for automatic approach. "As I understand it, it was designed as a ship from the start."
"Oh, come on," the other Hunter whined through a burst of cosmic static. "Maybe it was, but we all know the old Vanguard never billed it that way. You should see the news feeds in the City: half of 'em are grousing about how bloated the damn thing's budget must be; other half are just excited headlines that it turned out to be a ship! Ha!"
Leaning back in the cockpit seat, Mardin exchanged a look with Ghost, who shrugged his hedrons as if to say Leave me out of this.
"Anyway," the voice on comms continued, "just as well they got that thing out of town and into orbit. Glad they had the good sense to do it before letting Miz Spooky plop Gahlran's old hat in there."
"The Vanguard's had the Crown of Sorrow in containment since they recovered it from the Glykon last year—or didn't you know that?"
"Heh, sure. 'Containment.' Maybe it was in containment, whatever you think that means for a huge hunk of super-cursed shit like that, but it sure as hell ain't contained now. Damn thing's just sitting on the deck in the port-side H.E.L.M. wing, right on top of a nice stinkin' heap of that nasty fungal garbage. Foul shit's growing all over the room, too."
Mardin sat up, his pallid Awoken face getting somehow more pale. "It's... just sitting there?"
"Oh yeah," the other Hunter drawled. "But don't worry: they set up a little decon shower around the entrance. I'm sure that'll do it, right? We'll all be fine from those spores, eh? Ha!"

...APPROACHING...
Also ... why is the H.E.L.M. not accessible form the Tower itself? If it’s in the Tower why do we have to go to orbit just to go there? There’s a door right at the head of the stairs leading to the Annex that could have been turned into a door to the H.E.L.M. Oy, Bungie. *Facepalm*
HELM is pretty lovely. View in full size for proper effect.
(BONUS: the second gif I've ever made)
Some photos from the H.E.L.M. I’ve been getting back into D2 with the return of Guardian Games, this year it’s the Hunter’s time to shine.
