I think one of the weirdest parts of the perpetual NLOG/girl’s girl backlash cycle is the fluctuation in dominant attitudes towards comfort and fashion. In more NLOG eras it’s a total failing of feminism to sacrifice comfort for fashion and in girl’s girl eras it’s a mark of girl power to have permanent damage in your feet from heels. and ideally this is a cycle that largely encompasses young people and they will grow and realize that it’s a more nuanced matter of willingly choosing discomfort to achieve a certain form of self expression vs it being the default and there’s deeper questions of what choice really means in a society like ours etc etc. but it’s always been very funny to me that one of the hallmark aesthetic choices of NLOG “heels are torture” eras are Doc Martens. famously comfortable and not at all torture devices masquerading as status symbols.

I hate this about myself but if I had 30 seconds to beam information into everyone’s brain it would be the definition of improper appeal to authority as a logical fallacy. and with my last 10 seconds I would say that intelligence without kindness is just efficient cruelty

I think everyone needs to meet someone with a genuine fetish for whatever their biggest insecurity is at least once to remind them that a) someone will literally always want to fuck you and b) fuckability is a very low bar from which to hang your self esteem.
