I need this white boy so bad, I’ll literally throw myself in a body of water just for him to grab me and pull me to safety.🤤

Look at him. He’s so silly.
Rewatching H2O Just Add Water, and I can safely say that even after all these years, even as a now adult, it still pisses me the fuck off that Lewis never became a merman.
This is a reach but I've recently started re-watcing H2O: Just Add Water, and I'm falling in love with Rikki and Zane as a couple.
What I'm saying is I NEED fanfic recs. Like please.
WAKE THE FUCK UP, H2O FANDOM!!!
I like to believe this is a mostly fair fandom I joined in 2014 and you know what, it's 2020 now and I feel like we owe ourselves some credit!
In 2006, a producer in Gold Coast, Australia named Jonathan M. Shiff came up with the unique concept for a tv show about mermaids.
The concept: What if you had 3 ordinary girls changed into mermaids and learn to keep their secret? And who made up these 3 girls:
A responsible, athletic swimmer named Emma Gilbert.
A shy, but caring thalassophobic named Cleo Sertori.
And a fiery, rebellious teen named Rikki Chadwick (who would quickly be a fan favorite from her first scene)
3 teenagers who friendship started being bound by a magical secret and get into all sorts of hijinxs in the process!
And guess what: The first season had a GLOWING reception! Everyone loved the concept.
Then came season 2, where these girls got weatger powers and the producers found an amazing actress who beautifully delivered one of the best villains that almost everyone loved to hate!
And just when the show should have ended there, guess what?
THE FANS DEMANDED ONE MORE SEASON AND THAT'S WHAT WE GOT!
Suddenly, it's less about fitting in when your different to FINALLY acknowledging the source behind their magic! We get a new girl with a surprising past and abilities, a sea entity made from moon magic, and a threat to the fate of the world! And just in time to send them off to graduation!
And if that wasn't enough, it was announced in 2013 that there would be a new spin-off of H2O called Mako Mermaids (or Mako: Island of Secrets, if you prefer).
Concept: When a boy from inland winds up being turned into a merman, it's up to 3 native mermaids to set things right or they'll never return to their family.
This spin-off was effectively a reverse of H2O, where normal girls learn to be mermaids, these mermaids learn to be normal girls. Hijinxs ensures everywhere.
Now, of course it had it's fair share of problems:
Changing/adding cast members every season (not good or bad)
Timeline issues (starting as a prequel but deciding to be a sequel at the last minute)
STILL not knowing how mermaids conceived without mermen around
Slightly cringe-worthy script writing.
Half-descent worldbuilding on the Merpeople culture.
But same could be said about H2O and since they exist in the same world, I feel like they don't get much acknowledgement except for when Rikki guest starred in the last season.
But you know what: That's the point of this post. We're fans digging at scraps left behind!
I've seen the fan art, and I love it! Most include the canon girls, maybe the boyfriends, and a few villains, but its should be more to that!
Bloggers like me, @mako-and-tails-and-stuff, @h2ojustaddmako, @h2ocorner and more focus on finding the littlest (and sometimes HUGEST) things in the fandom that us viewers have missed. We create headcanons to fill in holes that were left empty or no longer discussed on the show! We create these theories behind the magic because 1.) it's fun and 2.) New ways to get creative with their powers. Did you know H2O is considered a Drama while MAKO's a comedy? There's nothing wrong with having both, yet only 26 FANFICTIONS EXISTS! 26! And only 7 are completed because they're either discontinued or one-shots. And only 10 that goes beyond 5 chapters.
Frankly...I find that disappointing!
The H2O NEEDS TO WAKE UP!
I know we were promised a reprise of H2O in 2022 (which was a lie, sadly) but we owe it to ourselves to keep productivity even in our busiest lives.
Artists, we need fan art! Doesn't matter how long it takes, it will be loved.
Video producers, the ones behind the epic fan vids and edits, keep on rockin'!!! It takes mad skills to put out the fruits of your labor!
Cosplayers....
Discussion boards, now it's your time to rise! Enough of our fanbase is old enough to notice things about H2O that we didn't realize before! (Hell, this fandom managed to put an LGBTQ spin on it so that way it could relate to wlw and mlm!) Its safe to come put now and point out headcanons, poor script writing and character development, and talk about how it could have been better!
And Fanfiction writers, I get it. Some days putting words to page is hard enough! Sometimes the inspiration hits but you can't write it down. But then you get courage and even the best writing flourishes. H2O is filled with stories between the teen years/adult life of the H2O gang, and while it can be fun, but life experiences and MAKO gave us tools to utilize stories from POVs we never considered. Write more OC stories from various backgrounds in different countries, even your own. Write stories based on supporting characters with underdeveloped plotlines. Write stories about redemption and admitting faults (cause season 2 is riddled with those). Write more stories where the least syspecting character holds all the marbles. Basically, make fictional H2O world in your mind that's out-of-the-box and amazing if you can! Your pen (or key strokes) are yours to command.
Essentially...Time to wake up, H2O Fandom! It's time to get to work!
(BTW, if I came off too strong or abrasive, I'm so, so, sorry! I just feel like the fandom has become lifeless with lack of content! So...I had to wake them up!)
So H2o just add water was basically my first real fandom, and today I've decided because I cannot find enough fandom content, I will produce it.
