the fact that tommy’s blood is A+, combined with the fact that claire is his biological mother, is further reason to believe that nathan wasn’t resurrected in 3x25 via claire’s blood donation due to incompatible blood types. while it's possible for children to have a different blood type than their mother, it’s an extra complication in an already complicated pregnancy. 

if claire’s blood is also A+, she can only donate to people with type A+ or AB+, which apparently includes noah, niki, maya, and sylar (along with over a third of the U.S. population, as A+ is the second most common blood type after O+). if nathan had an incompatible blood type, a donation could have had negative consequences–no pun intended.
