I always hate how a person's/a chunk of fandom's headcanon proliferates to the point where it's just accepted as canon, esp in dragon age/mass effect. The most personally annoying one is the way people assume Shep feels betrayed by Hackett bc of the events of Arrival like..maybe your Shepard doesn't understand a black ops missions and possible ramifications but mine did?? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

OH GOD SAME I mean in general I fucking hate that there’s fanon at all for a character that by all intents and purposes is designed to be fully customizable even in the source material, railroads be damned. “Hawke/Shepard/Whomever be like _____” just burns my biscuits at all bc literally the whole point is that every one of them is gonna be different in terms of personality, their reactions to things, etc even if there are some very broad similarities

but it’s extra fucking annoying that so often this fanon comes on the side of making them look ignorant or stupid lol no thanks!

it's a boss at the end of the second act - by that point if you have a at least marginal understanding of the calls you play it's super easy with each one... But I've spent the last decade being called an elitist snob for complaining about how Bioware combat lacks depth so...

listen...we’ll be elitists together bc combat is literally always the weakest thing about a bioware game. don’t get me started on how badly they always manage to tune any difficulty above Normal ( “lol lets just make everything have more hp and every fight be tedious af” inquisition was THE WORST with that)

this is a running problem for me in general, it’s the cursed side of the blessed coin of capturing characters’ voices well in dialogue

I was definitely not expecting real thought put into the universe, I thought maybe some surface aesthetics at best but they managed to make it feel real?? ALSO YES damn the costuming was ridiculous good, they made Keanu look incredible.

I had (and still have to on occasion) listen to so much shit @ work and it just floored me that people I knew and worked with and considered me their friend were so awful. I had to swallow so many things *I* wanted to say because there were *always* more of them than me. I’ve never felt so terrified @ work.

i know i told the story before of when i was working in higher ed financial aid going over a fafsa award letter w this lady and she proceeded to go on this tirade bc her son didn’t qualify for pell (her husband made 6 figures and owned a construction company, during the housing boom), talking abt how “if we were minorities on welfare we’d get a free ride”

thankfully my boss intervened cause i was abt ready to lose my job if she kept talking to me
