So I must be late to this party, but if you take a renegade conversation option when talking to Ashley about her sisters, Shepard makes fun of her for 'dancing through green fields, singing show tunes'. I've never said that to her before, because I figured it would be dismissive. Ashley doesn't take offence at Shep making fun of her, but she does take offence at making fun of show tunes.

Coming to the sad realization about Ashley voicing her suspicions about aliens on board the Normandy is that if the worst case scenario happened and one of the alien companions did actually betray them in some way, it will get to a point where someone finds out there's a Williams on the Normandy and turn all blame to her for it as if she was the one who brought the aliens on board. Because we all know they loooooooooove capitulating to Turians
