“Earth didn’t stand a chance”
i'm amazed hackett's only 53 in me3, he looks older!
52
but years don’t matter when you’re a legend
Hackett taking the time out of an official military update and status check to say: "Your mom is safe... And she was promoted!" to Spacer Shep is literally so heartwarming.
My Kathryn J cried.

“Dead Reapers are how we win this”
IT'S HACKETT WEEK!!!!!!!!!!!!
Some headcanons: -I picture him as having a faithful assistant, which is kinda weird because I have no idea if he can even have one? But I think that assistant is extremely helpful and a mystery because no one has really seen them but they absolutely exist and know Hackett very well. So much that they can translate his words, know if there is a code in there (all kinds of codes btw, like "please come save me from this meeting with idiots", "must I really talk to the Councilors? find a solution asap" or "there is an emergency attack RUN") and can help him when he needs it. It’s a relief to have someone he can count on. -He genuinely appreciates Anderson, as an Admiral and a friend, but he's not the type to meet him at the bar or have dinner with him. He's like this with most of his friends, you can always count on him (especially to show up with a fleet and a gun when you need him) but he's not going to socialize much. -Joker once forgot to mute the comm during ME1 while he talked about Hackett constantly asking the SR-1 to go on multiple missions and the possibility that one day Hackett was going to ask Shepard to do his laundry. When Joker noticed the comm was on, he said something like "fuck", apologized and turned it off immediately. Hackett was mostly amused but ever since that day Joker is 100% certain Hackett is planning his death. When Hackett shows up on the SR-2 after the Arrival mission, Joker makes sure to stay clear of him. Just in case. -Btw, speaking of the Arrival mission, I already said here that I believed he knew the outcome and risks and willingly sent Shepard to deal with that horror. He doesn't have regrets, he always does what has to be done. Still, he visits Shepard many times while they're locked up. -He's a brilliant tactician. -Really admires and gets along well with Liara. -Entirely indifferent in front of the most cutest things (babies? dogs? idk) but is a huge fan of cats. Will genuinely start a conversation with a cat if he sees one, talks to them like he would talk to a human. So no weird baby noises. Regular conversations like "Yeah, I know, this isn't the best situation right now. At least we have a fully functioning fleet, Mr Peppermint."
another hackett headcanon: you know those types of spy movies where the spy has a “regular” looking house but inside it's like... filled with weapons, spy stuff and a giant screen that show mission objectives? (reminds me of spy kids, aka one of the greatest movies ever made) anyway i bet hackett has what appears to be a "regular" house but if you push the wrong button you're dead
