               noise is different out of the water. it’s clearer, sharper. movements are heavier, too, since there is no current to glide along with. every step is crashing and breaking a wall of air. the people talk too much in low gruff voices, their demeanor as sour as the brine in their hair. she tugs her seal coat tighter around her shoulders ( no, she will not part with it out of water; her mother had warned her not to ). and just when her feet can comfortably tread the solid terrain, astrid walks into somebody.

                     slender fingers knead the fabric folded against her                            abdomen. Crying ? Not her, no. She was just sitting here                            while   she   figured  out  where  she  was.  Not  quite  lost,                            DISORIENTED,  maybe. Every tree     every shrub within                            sight  had  grown  to  look uncannily similar. The blonde's                            landmarks ( as if she had any ) were indistinguishable.

                    A downed dragon was a dead dragon, especially if it was meant to be a part of the sky, like all dragons should have been. Toothless had not moved from his position for quite some time, despite Hiccup's attempts to coax him to stand, and his ever-lasting persistence to accomplish just that.

                    Neon green-yellow eyes glanced toward the viking, pupils dilated to the point of being too-wide, even for how tired and depressed the dragon seemed. Only a soft purring rumble emitted from the dragon, wings limply tucked against his body, his tail failing to flick in the familiar playfulness that usually was Toothless' demeanor.
