Two updates:

1st is a vote.

I always treated tumblr more like my rant-post space and a way to communicate with you all what is going on. But simultaneously I understand that many of you might not be interested in my personal content (aka not minecraft related).

So I came to wonder if you prefer if I make a second account just for random stuff (aka my free space where I can go crazy) or you all okay if I will start to slowly introduce it here and just keep TikTok as “only ‘work’ related posts”. Really curious on your opinion as I feel like I want a bit more freedom in order not to burn out, but also don’t want to cluster the space here.

2nd. An example of such silly posts let’s say:

Over the years living in English speaking country, my accent slowly degraded. And today I noticed that I literally change the position of my jaw when I speak English or when I speak Russian. So I tried to speak English with “Russian jaw” and the accent came back lol.

Also, according to my friends who occasionally hear me talk in Russian (when I’m on a phone with family or get tired) my voice changes as well. Apparently my voice is deeper when I speak in Russian. Fun facts you don’t need, but I find it funny and might use in some way in stories.

Can/ how often watchers eat other watchers bc I remember you answering on tik tok that secret keeper feeds scar disobedient watchers so do other watchers get the brain like as a treat

On a passive they always eat each other’s emotions. Particularly that is the reason why watchers are so apathetic: their bodies don’t produce much emotion to begin with as they adapted to the society. (Also a reason why Grian was starting to feel in 3rd life, as he was away from watchers for a long time for body to recover)

As for brains: it’s usually when someone disobeys the law/dies. In logical calculation with how they build nursing system: they probably have two or three people per week. Not a lot yk, but still. (P.S. accounted for 1 natural death, 1 murder via mortals, 1 murder via court (including kids))

Most of the brains go towards nurseries or higher ups. So Cupid/Rush/Secret Keeper never really ate a brain after turning ~ 10. Maybe Rush did, but very low chance.

In conclusion: yes, watchers eat brains of other watchers as a treat.

Also, with the new chapter out, I want to remind you that Scar approximately already ate 8 watchers.

The thing I want you all to know is canon but never will be drawn is:

Secret Keeper shapeshifted in TFC once, addressing Scar as “my boy”, “little rascal”, and other nicknames TFC used for Scar while he was little.

That. That messed up with Scar the most. Seeing his dead ‘father’ (caregiver?) in front of him again. That messed up with Scar so much that Secret Keeper never did it again and put it so in Scar’s file, because they got worried it will ruin Scar’s sanity.

VERY HEAVY TOPIC AHAED

This post is inspired by the whole situation with Technolarp and my personal experience.

LarpSMP situation: I don’t think is healthy for friends and family members of Techno. But I don’t think Technolarp does it out of selfish/ignorant benefits. If he truly will stop if told by TechnoDad, then I feel like he’s a great person, since, in some sense, he just continues on Techno’s memory.

As for personal experience, since you all know now that I’m originally from Russia, you might as well know that Ukrainian drone destroyed my home, killing my grandparents (my parents basically) and my 4yo sister. If you ever remember me posting about how I got into art aka because my original plan is no longer possible: I was talking about getting my family out of the country. So yeah, topic of grief will be hidden in all my future stories possibly. I know for sure that Xisuma, Scar, and Cub are definitely dealing with grief in comic. Xisuma also has survivals guilt in DFAU.

As far as I'm aware, the human brain can't create new faces (like in their dreams or something like that), and it made me think that maybe the Watchers can't create new faces either. Ik they're shapeshifters, but to me it's more like they're imitating what already exists. Plus, their "mortal" disguises don't look that different from their 4D form translated for our eyes. They look more as if they're cosplaying the other species. Idk, it's just interesting to think about. Just a theory. A dried flowers theory.

Anyways, to an actual question: Do the placement and number of the Watchers' eyes have any meaning? In TimeKeeper's design, you clearly put their eyes like a clock cause of their title and game. Xenrai has 3 eyes, specifically one on their forehead which is associated with spirituality and wisdom (i'd also say self centered just because of the whole "star on the forehead" phrase, but it's just my own interpretation). Qanilu has 4 and to me,they're placed like a butterfly's wings. Tzekale also has 4, but they're put more in a chaotic way, which could mean instability? Xelqua...no idea for this one.

1) Watchers don’t make new faces. In most cases they always use their own face for 3D form with minor changes. Sometimes use face of someone else and it could be other watcher, mortal, or historical figure that is long gone and perhaps forgotten.

2) In terms of lore/in world explanation placement doesn’t matter, and numbers you all know already.

With my design choices there was proper consideration and reason. With Secret Keeper and Time Keeper you are spot on.

Rush is a simplified version of Time Keeper. That’s about it.

Cupid, while butterfly is cute, actually was intended to look like blush.

Xelqua has no symbolic reason. That design choice came from an opposite perspective: Grian. I thought originally to give Xelqua no bangs but figured it would be even harder to connect those two for readers.

The reason why I didn’t want Xelqua to have bangs and for Grian to have them is as simple as Grian physically obstructs vision for his top two eyes. Even if he accidentally opens them when emotional, in most cases they are not seen and they see only hair. It’s like a safe self harm. Instead of actually removing eyes, he covers them with hair.

OML!!! It's the panel with the secret dialogue in the tags!!! :D hmmmmm i wonder why the planet Earth is in the background... probably just a reference to Scar's new name given by the Watchers. Also, I just noticed that Scar's face is either hidden by something or has a shadow over his eyes. Hmmm, trying to think of a reason why cause it seems important. Is this a way of saying that Grian (or maybe the rest of the hermits) began to forget Scar's face cause he was gone for this long? Or is it just a another way to show the way Grian doesn't want to really think about Scar or face the situation (pun intended...i think. Uh anyways-)

FLOWERSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!! Glad my friend helped me with finding their meaning

So, I see there are belladonnas, which symbolize fatal beauty, seduction, dark magic and mystery; i think I see the pink camellia too, which is yearning/longing; Cyclamen is deep affection, devotion and resilience; Purple hyacinth is sorrow, a desire for forgiveness, and deep regret andddd probably the candytuft, which represents indifference and resilience. No poppies or lilacs in sign, which is an interesting choice cause I was gotta say these flowers (i mean the ones you drew in the comic) seem as if they show Grian and Scar's relationship/feelings towards each other(but again, there are no poppies (Grian's flower) or lilacs (their friendship)). Pearl speaks about Scar when these flowers are shown, which definitely represent Scar's mental state, his involvement with the Watchers (belladonna), his yearning for Grian's friendship/or the connection they had in the past(pink camellia), his affection and devotion for the people he cares about (cyclamen), his regret for killing his friends and becoming a monster (purple hyacinth) and now the last one...hmmm, i really don't know if indifference could be applied to Scar. I mean, he cares and that's why he's tasty for the Watchers, which is why this makes me think that the flowers are, in a way, Grian as well. His feelings, affection, regret, sorrow and longing are all buried deep down, and all we see is indifference.

Now...the song is a bit trickier. I tried to play the tune, but I don't recognize the song 🥀 cool thing to add tho

Oh wait, while we're on the topic of eyes, it's interesting that these ones are drawn so...human. I had a small theory a long time ago that the Watchers' eyes look like they have no pupil or iris because it's another way of protection. You can't really tell where their eyes are looking, which I think is an advantage for their species. However, you once drew Grian (and I think Their Grace too) with pupils when they felt something... intense (i think)

Oml, I was laughing so hard when I saw this panel for the first time cause I thought the Watcher was showing the middle finger 😭😭😭 ahem.

Anyways, this one definitely looks like Xelqua, but with the timeline that we have and the shhhh motion made by this person (i assume) and the lock, it must be Xenrai pretending to be Xelqua.

Ah, and we end this comic on such a beautiful message

But still, we see Grian in his original form and with the title of this comic AND the way he behaves, Grian still has the Watcher mentality/behavior 🥀🥀🥀

I’m glad you liked it and I really enjoyed seeing your analysis lol.

1) Yes, Scar’s face is obscured/fogged/shadowed because hermits are forgetting how he looks like. I was planning of having a “memory” of him saying something, where text is still readable but each letter is in a different font because his voice also had been forgotten.

2) As for flower language, the only thing I kinda dislike is that every country and every era has different meanings. So here’s what was intended:

Belladonna: silence

Pink camellia: longing for you

Candytuft: indifference

Cyclamen: resignation/goodbye

Purple hyacinths: sorrow.

All of them are Grian’s state. The notes are for “The distance between the two” by Toby Fox.

4) I’d say that watcher’s eyes have irises and pupils, they are just blended in. Like same colour + glow from magic.

5) Nope, that’s Grian/Xelqua. It’s more of a jab/memory of first two games when Xisuma tried to find his “kids”. Because Grian was the one to explain to Xisuma why he couldn’t find them after Last Life.

I swear, it’s a canon dialogue between Secret Keeper and Scar. Ironically, in this vod Scar also got isolated and trapped alone.

Scar: “Okay… Well, if you don’t finish your sentence - you won’t get your request.”

??? (distorted): “Will you be my friend?” x2

Scar: “Uh- Ah…”

??? (More distorted): “Will you be my friend? Will you be my frien-frie-fri-frfrfr”

Scar: “I can be your friend if you show me the exit.”

I don't believe this was ever addressed and if it was I'm afraid I haven't seen that post yet.

What do the other Watchers think about Scar and his relationship with Secret Keeper? And on the route where he manages to break/redeem the young watcher, do they see him as a sort of threat considering this is the second time it has happened with the same player?

Majority of the watchers see Scar’s and Secret Keeper’s relationship as “aw, look, they found a pet/toy”. That is mostly it, because that’s how Secret Keeper presents the relationship.

Cupid finds that amusing as Scar is Grian’s favourite and now they have him.

Their Grace doesn’t care whatsoever. Secret Keeper still does their job and furthermore Scar helps them. Not the first time archivist took in mortal pet (khm, king in yellow, khm)

Rush however is just annoyed. I think it was clear considering that he calls Scar “that problem” and wasn’t allowed to keep Martyn.

As for the route of redemption… The views would divide.

Cupid, along with half of the watchers, would see it as Grian’s and Secret Keeper’s fault. They let themselves feel and… ugh, care. It’s on them. No surprise it’s them. After all Secret Keeper always adored to copy Grian. No wonder if one broke another would too.

Rush, along with the other half, would indeed see it as Scar’s phenomenon. Which, you know, isn’t good. Because watchers don’t like uncertainty. They have archive systems for a reason. So Scar, most likely, would be studied. Like properly. They would try and figure out if Secret Keeper and Grian broke because of some vex magic or is it just Scar. And why just Scar.

So very likely hermitcraft would have a new member just to hang out with Scar. And who wouldn’t suit better than Cupid to test the whole deal? “You let me stay and two rebels here won’t die 🥰”
